It wasn't a generalization. I've been around here long enough and have seen enough people with your viewpoint to know that in a thread when people start mentioning reviews, especially if someone really has high hopes for a game but it gets thrashed in reviews, the rhetoric starts to appear. "How do you know it's good if YOU haven't tried it...." It's a dishonest viewpoint. I don't believe for a second that you or any of those people seriously thinks that the only way that you can know if something is trash is unless you play it yourself. That's BS and its a defense mechanism to be able to continue to defend a game once its been bashed. It trys to shutdown an argument prematurely. You may like the game even though you know its not good and consensus has shown it to not be good. And people avoided it because of that consensus. And because you were the only one that played the shytty game, you take the stance that you were the only person that has the right to bash it. Maybe you can find someone to agree with you on that notion but I'm not one of them.
And yes, I do value one or two bucks over certain life experiences, ESPECIALLY bad ones. I value one or two bucks over the prison experience? What? You don't? Again, to each his own. But that's how I view it. My time is valuable. It's finite. I'm a grown man with a house note, car note, job, etc. I have even less time to game like I really want to. Forgive me if I don't want to spend that time "experiencing" shytty games for myself.
