I can't really take any black that preaches that "all you ppl have to do, is work hard and pull yourself by the bootstraps and you will succeed" seriously. Farooq has bought in and is a clown. And of course rock can speak fondly of NOD with the benefit of hindsight. That doesn't refute he was against the idea originally

He had black kids in GI Joe breh. Walking Tall, his dad was black. He was portrayed as a black man with a potential black love interest (Janet Jackson) with his slight cameo in the Tyler Perry Joint. Other Guys, Gridiron Gang, Gameplan were all black characters. He works alongside black actors and actress all the time. The fukk are you even saying.

NAACP was a big thing because I guarantee you, if Rock did not show up he would have been crucified. Its common courtesy sure, but people don’t always show up to those shows. He did and made it known that he has heritage of color who set the path for him. How can someone spin that into a negative is beyond me.

Pretty sure Rock doesn’t resent his father at all. They still have a relationship. Its just not as strong as the one with his mother because his father was not around early on. Thats not a bad thing. Rock has done a lot for his dad. He praises the hell out of his dad and what he’s done for him and for African Americans in wrestling.
