Peace brehs and brehettes,

I noticed that there was not much discussion about yoga on this subforum, let alone an official thread, so I decided to create one :blessed:

I will periodically come back and edit this post with good introductory videos and articles on the benefits of yoga, the different schools of yoga, how to achieve certain poses, etc.

Finding a good instructor is important. Try a few if you're new.

I agree, but not having access to an instructor shouldn't be a deterrent either. There are many basic yoga guided practices on YouTube. I came across one woman's account on Instagram the other day who said she is a self-taught yogini. She was doing some stuff I couldn't dream of doing right now :skip:

you got a link for that?

I havent done it yet but the level 2 video's show up recommended. These are both 20 minutes

Im gonna try the level 2 ones soon that are a half hour long

Its like it all makes sense to me now. Your body slowly dies over many years. You lose your flexibility, all the things you could do as a kid. But this brings it back and then some

Liftin weights long term will onlt contribute to the tightening of the body, and lead to tendenitis. Even with correct form, for many it will take a toll on the back, knees and elbows.

Doing things more along the lines of resistance training/body weight exercises, plyometrics, boxing amd yoga will help you age better

And you can still bulk up if your skinny, just eat alot. I feel like I got a formula I can use for many years now, im sure ill tweak things just to switch it up sometimes

But yea, I highly recommend yoga. I think everybody should do it

I tried to do a forearm stand last week and failed miserably :skip:

I do not yet have enough forearm, shoulder, and core strength and/or mobility to successfully execute it yet.

I'm incorporating the exercise below to work specifically on strengthening and opening up my forearms and shoulders.
