Stick with the USB 3 external. From my understanding of it the X1 has a sata 2 port. USB 3.0 has a higher bandwidth than sata 2

Yeah the X1 and PS4 both have SATA 2 internally. USB 3.0 and a SATA III external SSD is the way to go for the most speed.

Naw it used to just sync right up to my phone/chromebook automatically. Like when I used to load youtube and Netflix on my phone it would sync right to the xbox. Like I said xboxone doesn't show up on my network as a media server at all.

That shyt is iffy. Plex works excellently if you're willing to pay for the Plex Pass.
