I disagree...puyol is one of those old ass defenders with tons of experience who really makes a team a TEAM imo. dude is their maldini

villa not as instrumental. they have guys who can finish.

Villa was their top scorer in the last 2 tournaments, that they won. Golden boot in 2008 and joint golden boot in 2010.

He as arguably their best attacking player in both tournaments.

Huge miss for them, their system either has to change slightly, or they have to replace him with a poor imitation.

and villa is much much more important to spain than puyol.

they dominate possession to the point that their defence is not really under pressure for long periods. how you gonna score if they have the ball?

plus his replacements in pique, ramos, albiol are all capable...

llorente is great, but is obviously a diff type of threat to villa. he gives their possession football a bit of penetration which is sometimes otherwise lacking.
