Again, real madrid has been good forever. Can we agree that in the past 10 years that the a lot of the best players for barca and RM were non-Spanish? Why wasn't Spain world beaters in the 90s and early 2000s and making deep runs in intl tourneys? It still does not explain how Spain is so dominant.

Again, I'm not hating on Spain as you can see from my previous posts, just trying to ask a thought provoking question. :skip:

You're coming off as dense, breh.

The best players for these teams ARE Spanish now. Xavi, Iniesta, Xabi Alonso, Biscuits, Piquet, Ramos, Cesc, Ilker.

If when you think Barca you think Ronaldinho and Eto'o you haven't seen a game in like five years.

I would take Xabi off that list, but this is about right.

no. and no. madrid hasnt been this good in a while. only under jose did they start doing anything. back then they were being knocked out by second tier squads like lyon out of champs league...and finishing 2nd to barca

xavi and iniesta are both spanish and are possibly the GOAT midfield duo. I dont see how you just choose to ignore them.

they + pressing and defense make barca what it is far more than any of foreign players do at barca.

xavi+iniesta and what they mean to barca and spain >>>>>>>>>>>> any two/three foreign players at barca. and yes, that includes leo.

I'll use this opportunity to talk about how much I hate that fakkit Biscuits.

But if he was on Man U he'd undoubtedly be my favorite player.

Between his workhorse defense (even though he's slow as shyt), ball control, simple passes, and ability to absolutely cripple an opposing team with fukkery dude is an absolute player but gawt damn fukk his life. Every time he takes the field I want to see him embarrassed and then injured.

Also, this tournament showed us the best and worse of Pirlo. Once you close him down the novelty of having a guy who can create from so deep wears off once he starts being useless on defense.

It's why Milan let him go. You close down on dude and he isn't anywhere near the same.

That's what separates Xavi and him.
