I dont mind this england performance. probably the best theyve played at a tournament for 8 years. Wilshere and anybody else in for gerrard and parker and they might even be good to watch.

Early 06 WC performances were pretty good. The looked shook last night.

I read bit back through the thread and the amount of clueless americans having a go at England for not playing football is a damning indictment of how much they watch/know about football.
We weren't shook at all, our game plan was to play exactly how we did last night, whether silly yanks who watch football for about 3 weeks every 2 year like it or not, Roy doesn't give a fukk what you think.
And all in all, it worked pretty well, poor closing down for the goal which i was disappointed with but apart from that i thought we were bang on, given the players we have available.
Why they aren't available and whether mistakes were made there is another discussion but now we have to play to our best with what we've got, and yesterday i feel we did, so i'm happy.
We might play a bit more v Sweden but don't expect anything major to change, Sweden have to come after us since they lost, we'll hit them on the break, i reckon to great effect.

How typical to just blast that "Americans don't know futbol" nonsense just because we called out England for that lackluster performance. England only had 3 shots on target compared to France's 15. (so I will admit ENG defended well). But overall you guys were overmatched and LUCKY that France didn't actually capitalize.
I give the benefit of the doubt since Rooney was out, but I don't see how England fans aren't disappointed.
Because we've accepted how good we are.
And i wouldn't need to blast that if you didn't keep on proving me right with posts like these.
