This shyt gonna bring people a lot of pain. I guarantee you when the dust settles people are going to be livid about these lockdowns. It's not going to be pretty at all. We'll see a lot of "Were the lockdowns worth it?" "Was destroying the economy the right call?". I'm on the fence. Crime is way up. So is domestic abuse, depression, etc...and more to come. Imagine the government shutting down your business and you lose your business, home, everything? Man a lot of people are going to be bitter as fukk. Business owners would rather go down with the ship on their own doing rather than have the government sink it for them. Imagine saving up and finally opening a restaurant in February and you're broke and destitute by April? A lot of those stories.

Yup its sad. If you lock down all forms of government should be covering the same amount you were earning before instead you are left to fend for yourself. I work in healthcare and have seen a lot, but i'd rather the government lock down nursing homes / ltc / retirement homes than this.

People making the decisions get their big 5 figures every two weeks and month and don't have to deal or worry with what's happening

whats worse is that it's getting cold, no one is going to dine out when its 5 degrees etc., takeout only really works when its mcdonalds kfc etc.

That's the worst part. The people making the decisions are getting paid significant salaries. If lockdown included government salaries being frozen they'd act much differently. How does a dude making 200K tell you that you can't make a living and to suck it up. Default on everything and just say "Not my problem". That shyt is not right. Allow people to lose their businesses on their own doing, not the government's.

I work in condo development.... market is still going crazy, thinking of making a jump to a new company, trying to convince myself the market is rationale but I dunno, I guess the rich will stay rich and the lower working class will be fukked, I see rich immigration driving housing in the GTA for the long term...

Cool?
My moms a nurse and I also work in healthcare unlike most of y’all I actually see things first hand but carry on.

there wouldn’t be a need for another lockdown if Ford wasn’t a bumbling idiot

I don’t see the point in shutting down gyms, movies and indoor dining when I can go to the mall and be surrounded by thousands of people

I wonder how much that check to Ford from Cadillac Fairview was

By December 1999 the new Cadillac Fairview was on its way to becoming a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan whose relationship with Cadillac Fairview began in 1995 (when Cadillac Fairview was publicly traded, Teachers’ was the largest shareholder holding approximately 21.8% of the outstanding common shares.) Teachers’, with over $68 billion in assets, saw the acquisition of Cadillac Fairview as an excellent opportunity to attain a desired level of allocation in the real estate sector while providing a good level of return for the active and retired Ontario teachers for whom it invests. The acquisition was finalized in mid-March 2000. For more information, please visit Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan.

main reason I won't stay here long term. they have changed the culture of the city for the worst. beware of a major city with not "life" no entertainment district. no small businesses. downtown is changing ever faster into an elite residential area instead of a major city hub :hhh:
