main reason I won't stay here long term. they have changed the culture of the city for the worst. beware of a major city with not "life" no entertainment district. no small businesses. downtown is changing ever faster into an elite residential area instead of a major city hub

i still can't understand why people like living DT...too much pollution, traffick, people etc. yuckk.

This shyt gonna bring people a lot of pain. I guarantee you when the dust settles people are going to be livid about these lockdowns. It's not going to be pretty at all. We'll see a lot of "Were the lockdowns worth it?" "Was destroying the economy the right call?". I'm on the fence. Crime is way up. So is domestic abuse, depression, etc...and more to come. Imagine the government shutting down your business and you lose your business, home, everything? Man a lot of people are going to be bitter as fukk. Business owners would rather go down with the ship on their own doing rather than have the government sink it for them. Imagine saving up and finally opening a restaurant in February and you're broke and destitute by April? A lot of those stories.

I understand pre covid being close to work etc. but that's the only positive I can think

The money you have to pay for rent is disgusting. 2 grand a month to live in a tiny condo I hate driving downtown one way streets, can't turn here between certain times, stupid bikes that think they own the road, slow streetcars, cars parked taking up one lane, houses that don't have a garage, a lot of crazy mental people, homelessness.

i know it sucks, ass. Hopefully our generation starts to bring some change. I know enough black women working or studying to become RNs and other medical professionals, i hope they can take over and run management someday. politically, zero none, I don't know any black people involved. I do hear of some somalis trying to get involved. I think we had a somali guy running here in Ottawa with the Conservative Party a elections back.
