you can get into trades via second career in a heart beat if you young and unemployed.

If you wanted to you could get grants in Toronto for youth starting business, you could go to a program like the remix project and get certified training for recording arts you can get funding for skill trade jobs easier than any other type of funding from the Ontario government while unemployed.

how many shooters and gang members even looked into any of this shyt for starters? it's not lacking... you can't force learning. learning happens at full clip when curiosity is already present hence these people have to be coming to the table not being funnelled there. if you need to be funnelled anywhere you might as well go sign up to job agencies and go that route. Toronto can be bleek and hopeless but it has a lot more to do with mentality than lack of resources as a youth. I promise you that. Black scholarships funds sit unused every year readily available for high school brehs

you asking the government to raise these kids, lead them to the water and make them drink. that's a tall order.... that's on their parents. the resources are already there. it's very unrealistic to do everything you are stating for someone and make them successful. you gotta have a drive for success not be driven to it.

i mean it sounds good but you'd have to define success first and success to you and me isn't necessarily success to some of these guys.

also there are guys out here selling cocaine, weed, pills and are clean cut black men who you'd never suspect and come from these areas, they're successful, albeit off the suffering of others, much like big Pharma with Oxycontin, politicians with hurtful and predatory policies.

breh i could go on...but i think you know deep down inside what it is.

The same money he is gifting to the police, he could have put that money back into youth programs. Remember he ended what he called "hug a thug" programs... These guys are just transferring money to eachothers bank accounts.
dawg it's so obvious they hate blacks deep down.

You’re wrong bruh and quite frankly, the shyt you just posted is disrespectful and offensive to many black youths who are disadvantaged and live in housing. You keep making these types of posts without clearly understanding socioeconomics and inequalities that exist in our society.

Education being one of the most critical and being born in a certain neighborhood and how much of an impact that has on your future. As a talkative and energetic black kid in class, they wanted to put me on Ritalin when I was fukking 8 and again when I was 12 in middle school. I was never a stupid kid and I knew that. I read omnivorously and loved learning but I was bored in school and had some issues at home. Does that mean I need to be on drugs to be in school?

But I lived in a poor neighborhood and they had a system in place years before I went to those schools. Put the black boys on Ritalin and into the “dumb” classes and when high school rolls around, send them to the “dumb schools”. Read this article on it:

Black students hindered by academic streaming, suspensions, says report from York University

They tried to do all that shyt with me but my parents knew what it was and didn’t allow it. What does any of that have to do with mentality? Being targeted for drugs and streamed into classes and schools? The same government you saying shouldn’t be “raising kids” is complicit in that system of abuse to black youth. This is what I mean when I say you should misinformed and lacking of any compassion. You actually come off like an entitled cac and it’s creepy.

For the record, I was able to graduate from UofT and now make over six figures but some of my homies who got “streamed” into these schools and suffered the same abuse by your government weren’t so lucky. There is a degree of self-determination but education is one of our biggest drivers of social upward mobility and many black youths suffer from these abuses, how would they not become educationally hopeless? What type of impact would that have on their future? You haven’t thought this through breh.

they tried that with my brother.

i don't care if you are offended. the government is not going to hold these nikkaz hands thru life as a solution. mans need to get realistic and start being competitive in this lifetime. solutions can't hinge on everyone else doing shyt for you.

you didn't disprove me by showing that resources are out of reach but rather giving me the same story we carry on through life as brothers in this lifetime of hardship. being second streamed can't stop someone from learning, it just delays the process if you determined and many of us overcame that. I was speaking specifically to that posters suggestions as unrealistic. youth are not out here killing because they can't get trade jobs and other shyt. mufhukaz is doing shyt purely for clout. The government wont teach us to value ourselves or seek better opportunities. anybody that can't admit our value system is broken first and foremost is wasting time.

Education is not value, the opportunities that poster spoke about are not valued it's not that they are unattainable. we can keep dancing around the point endlessly and throwing soft blows to avoid hurt feelings but we all grew up in this city. You trying to tell me about corrupt educators. I was top of my class in high school, my Vice principle to separate me from my Black friends... one day she took me in her car for a ride and told me they were bad people and asked why I hung out with them. I said nothing and never spoke to her again. I graduated and went to U of T. they forced me out of high school early and never even got my shyt in the yearbook. I was "punished" for not breaking away form the Black kids.

All my friends graduated. some got streamed. we all doing well regardless. I find it odd that you tell me I act cac like then try to teach me about life as a Black person in Toronto like I wasn't here too. i have my reasons for being as harsh with my outlook as I am. I don't think our problems in this society are entirely removed from ourselves. a lot are systematic but today more are actually CULTURAL. call me a cac or a c00n, could give 2 fukks. if it takes you dudes 2 years or 20 to admit it. the only thing that is gonna save brehs in this city is a cultural shift not a task force or more government aid. Look at the things Black people have done and achieved in this country going back to the first arrivals and we are here today talking about the odds against us like they are any worse. If i come off insensitive it is because i'm sick of seeing innocent brehs dying and then hearing about social economic solutions for gang violence. shyt is absurd. dudes ain't even shooting to eat or feed anyone shyt for clout... da fukk

this my last post in here. y'all have fun :hubie:

i've stated before that there needs to be a cultural change....but that's going to take a multifaceted approach, including gov't aid, programs, policing to an extent, and self determination...all of which work to correct the perceptions black men have about themselves, the world.

i guess we're all saying the same thing but we're writing bite sized insights into the issue we all overcame.
