Are there any decent rentals in the GTA? preferrably in the sub $1500/mth range?
U can normally find some gems from independent landlords on Craigslist. I’ve found every play I’ve ever rented there. Always landed a nice unit, below market value and in decent neighbourhoods. You gotta REALLY comb through the postings though.

Pretty sure the headline is meaning people of Toronto not the actual city of Toronto, the go fund me was up around 10k so that should cover it.
I stand corrected, the city IS paying for her funeral, gofundme is refunding donations sent.

most likely east york or Scarborough

Not really anymore. If houses are selling for close to a million, after dropping $100,000 grand plus closing costs, and interest, you're looking at $3333 a month mortgage for like 30 years. This is creating a huge housing crisis in this city. My landlord just sold my house and I have to go live with my in laws. The cost of rent, plus daycare is way too fukking high. Plus add gas, groceries, clothes for a 1 year old. Ontario is becoming unaffordable for anyone making less then 100k a year, and even then it's hard because you're being taxed out the ass and get no subsidies. As I've said over and over, Toronto is fukked for the foreseeable future. Even if you come out of university, you're going to be saddled with so much debt, just to get an entry job, and still can't afford rent, let alone paying off your loan...

Get your guns up and ready. Cause the wolves are just waking up here. Give it five more years and we'll be close to Chicago. Grown men and kids are going to be desperate to put food on the table, and all options will be considered, including murder...

Average home sold prices in Toronto increased by 6.2% compared to last month, with the average sold price at $1.136 million. And yes it is, doesn't even matter if you have a great job. I make more money now per year than my dad ever made including inflation but he was able to buy multiple houses.

Even condos are unaffordable now paying like 550k plus for a one bedroom and maintenance fees.

Don't even get me started on gas I bought 30 dollars of gas yesterday at 1.49L and just barely got past the quarter tank mark on my crv. Also went grocery shopping yesterday and everything seems like 25cents to a dollar more. Even at basic ol no frills.

Everything is so expensive in this city
