Not really anymore. If houses are selling for close to a million, after dropping $100,000 grand plus closing costs, and interest, you're looking at $3333 a month mortgage for like 30 years. This is creating a huge housing crisis in this city. My landlord just sold my house and I have to go live with my in laws. The cost of rent, plus daycare is way too fukking high. Plus add gas, groceries, clothes for a 1 year old. Ontario is becoming unaffordable for anyone making less then 100k a year, and even then it's hard because you're being taxed out the ass and get no subsidies. As I've said over and over, Toronto is fukked for the foreseeable future. Even if you come out of university, you're going to be saddled with so much debt, just to get an entry job, and still can't afford rent, let alone paying off your loan...
