All the new indian immigrants come to canada solo on student visa
And they transition so fast
Any job ..they grind

Live with like 5 other people while finishing school

You rarely see them sell drugs or commit crimes
I'm not here to play model minority or compare black crime stats or throw nikkas under the crime bus. But everyone in this country does dirt.

70 percent of my friends are criminals and 10 pecent that 70 percent are known criminals and my circle of friends looks like the united nations.

Like i said, nikkas are just behind the curve, getting caught up in ediat shyt or running crash test dummy type of missions. Other groups are out here here doing crime and hood rat shiet but they also have legitimate endeavors, assets and ventures that the government or police cant take away from them

This. I’d rather help the many black people out there doing the right thing but are having to deal with constant road blocks (the system). Yes, we shouldn’t abandon thr ones ho made the wrong choices but we also shouldn’t forget about the ones who made the right choices and still are getting held down. Young black people see that and determine that all that hard work is not worth it. So it’s important we look after the ones doing right.
Honestly, Canada just has to be tougher with censorship.

From Canada to all across Europe, you can see the negative effects of american media. It's so obvious. Yeah, we all can't be doctors, but guys out here lurking at night shooting people? We're dealing with mentally damaged people now.

China gets it. If children see certain images, they will grow and emulate it.

What black fraternities exist here? What black historical bars and establishments? What black leadership or movies or TV shows that tell our stories here, not in the US? We don't have a sense of identity or sense of being wanted. Black people and our struggles get swept under the rug in Canada. Its like we don't exist. They'll give Anne of Green Gables a show every 5 years, but your lucky to see 5 black Canadians in entertainment that isn't sports or music. We don't foster a sense of pride for POC in this country. This is why its even harder to move away from big cities and we get stuck with living costs we can't afford. Its multi layered...
Disagree again.

We got black restaurants, Black people in media, Black newspapers, Black radio stations, Black festivals. It's all there, no excuses.

But moment there's a Jam, Pool party or BBQ, there's no shortage of organization and support. :mjpls:

We need to keep it all the way real. A lot of black people bullshytted their time and are now looking for excuses or easy ways out. Or even worse, some of you are so frustrated you will just fukk over anyone just to feel satisfied.

Yup.

No excuses

90 of the employees at my local walmart is fresh indians that just got to canada 1 year ago
And almost alll of them going to school fulltime

Jobs are available but abdi wants to record drill rap and sell drugs

Its different when you come here from another country. You got oriole paying for you to make it here so you can send for them. This is why Africans and west Indians come here for School and get their heads in the books. My parents came here…earned degrees. Sent for their siblings who earned degrees. You have to make it here if you’re from somewhere else. Indians do the same thing.

We have a provincial premiere who sold tons of hash and marijuana as a young man and got away with it because his father was rich. His brother was the mayor at one point and was a fukking crack head...

Drake and Nathan Downer don't represent black people nationally. We have zero identity in this country. Zero. We are either viewed as all Jamaican or African if you're a 4th generation. Maybe Nova Scotian. Like I said, where are the stories that talk about being black growing up in this city or country. They don't exist. Instead we get Anne of Green Gables the 100th remake. Then when problems do exist or pop up we say that the people are just mimicking people from the US.

If you're a young black athlete with skills to go pro are you doing it here or leaving for school? Artist? Same. I know dozens of fellow artists who dipped to LA, Atlanta, NYC because a lack of opportunity.

We're not taking the complexity of young black mens life into account. The underlying bigotry that confronts them from about age 10 on. The school to jail system that exists primarily with young black men. The drugs that tend to drive wedges between us, while spoiled kids frok the suburbs move downtown and get blasted on coke and pills daily, with zero consequences. The inflation causing families to choose rent or food. The sky high cost if enrolling your kids in sports programs to keep them off the streets.

We're creating two Toronto's, similar to San Francisco and Oakland, and black people are paying the majority of the debt. Million dollar home owners versus people struggling to pay $2500 rent for an apartment in an already fukked up building.

You want the stories of growing up being black? here it is.

I'd rather Anne of Green Gables than the 500 Toronto Chief Keef wannabes.

Why is it other Black people seem to be able to avoid all this? Where is the accountability in all of this?

The problem is money. Good paying jobs are harder and harder to come by. Shift work only gets you so far, and inflation is hurting everyone. The housing market is wild and driving rent to unaffordable prices. How long can you watch your parents struggle? How long can you work bullshyt hours and fight with your partner about bills. These young men aren't living for that buklshyt. They're going to go out and get it while they can. The cops use this as a way to make sure they get paid... This city has never, and will not anytime soon, understand the life of young black people. They just brush them under the rug and pretend they don't exist unless for PR. We as a city need serious help, but pride, and image matter a lot to this country, and they don't want their image fukked up by the notion that they have failed and are failing black people...
i agree.....one thing, its institutional, there's a reason you only blacks as supervisors and very few managers in the top companies the brass doesn't want them in higher positions. Makes it more difficult to create and enforce policy that's more fair and allows the best opportunity irrespective of race, creed, etc. the world cold. as a whole blacks are seen (in policy enforcement) as low skill labour in european and north american countries for the most part. Other than professions like engineering and non medical phds. WOuld-be Medical doctors for instance have to have extracurriculars that many poorer but intellectually capable black men and women cannot access due to opportunity cost.

it's like this; it's cultural, not any "black culture" but street culture, the very fact that the street lifestyle is promoted by record execs other young black men feel it's a viable way out and to a lesser extent a viable way of life. a young man sees no success in his own family but sees his old heads living in plush condos taking trips all from movin cocaine, cannabis, sending escorts etc and wants that, it starts with just wanting enough to feed yourself, clothe yourself and feed your people if that the situation you're in as a teen. the pressure is desperate beloved it puts the world on the shoulders of people with nooooo life skills yet. Then consider some of the guys live in places where there are old beefs they had nothing to do with necessitating arming yourself buying a vest while navigating your geographic area just so you have a fukking fighting chance at taking another breath and you have a recipe for disaster....some dive head first out of bravado and end up dead or doing 25. the lucky ones might escape with some mild ptsd a minor jail bid and no criminal record depending on how trial goes.

dawg i hate to admit it but if these brehs aren't reached at around 12-14 years old they're fukked. bro not one of my potnas hasn't been to prison/provincial jail in the last 13 years if not for cocaine trafficking charges it's armed robberies (banks) and breh these guys were better students than me in elementary school. once they caught those first charges as YOs it was overrrrrrr.

mind you i'm a uni grad with his own business but when i tell you my life woulda been a wrap, not but for the grace of the most high I type these words.
