Tamil guys have been doing this for two decades straight, same group, multiple drivers. Clearly making a living off it. The one guy you call works like a dispatch and assigns you a driver, so they have multiple trips per day.

:ohhh: its smart. Probably write off most stuff like gas etc., government can't keep track of how many people actually book as most of it is straight cash. Highway driving not really a burden on cars in the morning traffic to ottawa isn't bad and going west in the afternoon is smooth sailing.

Esp with greyhound shutting operations and megabus/other bus companies only going from toronto to ottawa and vice versa 3 times a week.

While taxis stay idle for 90% of the day and scrape for 75

Back now, was mainly in NC, but spent a few days in Charleston. Nice region though, and NC in particular seems like a nice place to live. Would make sure I visit during sports season next time to catch a Panthers/Hornets game or UNC ball game.

How is it coming back like you're tested at the airport right? And just go home and once you get your results you can do whatever right?

Did you have to pay in the states for your covid test on return?

If you’re fully vaccinated you don’t have to test at airport, though they say you may be randomly picked. I wasn’t.

You do need a molecular test at least 72 hours before the flight, which is annoying. You present this test result at check-in both leaving and coming back, depending on your destination. The States accepts rapid tests to travel there but for some reason Canada does not. Both ways, you can get a free PCR test at Walgreens/CVS in the States.

Also no quarantine requirement if fully vaccinated.

Walgreens doesn’t charge but sometimes cvs asks for insurance cards. Most don’t care especially here in NY.

also Canada does accept the rapid NAAT which is also a molecular test. It’s the rapid antigen that Canada doesn’t accept. Two Canadian joints have visited me multiple times since July and the rapid molecular (NAAT) was fine.

If US would open up the land borders to y’all it’ll reduce the chaos as folks won’t have to fly to NY and other places close by. One of my joints had to fly to Detroit when it’s like a 4 hr drive. She had to have two layovers and the price was 700 Canadian. Ridiculous

sometimes I wonder if the US is trying to get these airlines to recoup lost funds cuz the moment we open the land border back up, folks from Canada go from paying 700 for a flight to 104 on the Amtrak to get into the US. Either way it’s bullshyt considering we are cool with y’all flying over here but we draw the line when it comes to crossing by land :stopitslime:

and more canadians are vaccinated than americans, plus y'all allow illegal mexicans to walk right in.

Its the same for UK us canadians cant go to the uk unless we quarantine for ten days, you americans that are vaccinated can :dahell:

Charleston is easily one of the nicest places I've ever been. Beautiful town. Crazy the history there.

If you live in Ontario you’re living with masks, distancing and rolling restrictions forever :snoop:

6-8 months :dead:

At this point, I've accepted that this shyt is gonna be endemic. We've seen so many stories about stupid people and governments all over the world fukking up and it hasn't stopped.

This is just how life is gonna be. We're just gonna have to adapt:yeshrug:
