canada vax rate
Canada: 70/56%.

we will probably peak at 80/70

nothing u can do to convince those 20 percent to get the shot...unless delta starts killing their family members

Easiest thing to do is to mandate those vaccination "passports" aka another Ontario ID card to enter public places. If you wanna go eat, shop and travel, make them show the card and link their health card number to it :yeshrug:

If people are arguing about freedoms or whatever, well tough break. Go get vaccinated:yeshrug:

It’s nearly impossibly ro fully impose a vaccine passport for everyday life and tbh it’s also kinda stupid

COVID is NOT the only virus we will incur, once another virus comes up (kinda like influenza or sars) the passport we have in place would need to be rectified and a new one would need to be put in place.

I think it makes more sense just setting it up in drug stores, pharmacies, clinics etc and making it an annual tetanus shot that is ALWAYS available even after reopening stages.

toronto cops live in the boonies and thats probably why they struggle to catch jokers like these nikkas. NO knowledge or intel about how these guys operate, how to catch them or even how they talk

sidenote: "croadie" is still a wackass term :hhh:

It won't be hard to print. The province has all of the information. You want to mandate without the hassle of endangering front line staff? Put a unique QR code to scan people in like in other countries. Asian and European countries have been doing it for years on their subway. The blue print is out there.

Lol we've had a vaccine passport for years, it's that immunization record on the yellow pamphlet. Everything is digitized now and when you call public health, all of your information is on their online system

Why would they have a immunization record for only one disease

The vaccine is already publicly available at all these places you mentioned at a walk in basis right now. If you don't have at least one dose right now, you're just procrastinating or actively not getting it

School example you guys refer to is very different than passport people typically envision for day to day life. Given reality of Canadian federal system, find it very hard to believe anything widespread will be successfully rolled out.

Besides the logistics, can we explain what the problem a vaccine passport is supposed to resolve? We have among the highest vaccination rates in the world.

Is this to protect the unvaccinated or vaccinated? If latter, there’s still no proof that any variant will lead to widespread breakthrough of severe cases among fully vaccinated. If you’re fully vaccinated ( I am), why even sweat the very small percentage of people holding out?

Not to mention the places that have very low vaccination rates in Ontario, aren’t what people typically picture. Prisons, homeless population, poor neighbourhoods with high visible minority all have lower vaccination rates than general population. I don’t see how general vaccine passport will address any of those areas? Mandate it for hospitals, LTCH, and school teachers so there’s no excuse to close schools again and move on with life.
