i think a lot of people are taking their frustration for all of Phase 4 out on this. it's definitely still not a great movie, but it's better than some of the reviews i've been seeing. i actually don't believe the rest of the projects that have been getting shyt on are. there's been a movement to try and redeem Eternals, and fukk that shyt. MoM and Disney+ show critiques are mostly valid. this one is getting some real chintzy hate. i guess i get it though. Phase 4 is a dud.

Lol I get it …. shyt mediocre etc but I’m looking at it in some comic issue shyt but unfortunately doing that won’t work visually…..the Audience don’t have time to wait for Mediocre stuff to get to the great stuff

i really enjoyed it, its as iif the glow from Spdier-Man and Strange wore off and people realized those movies werent as good as they felt walking out the theater and they are taking it on on Thor

I straight up enjoyed Thor over both of those - generally surprised by the reaction to this movie, I thought it was super enjoyable

The only big miss to me was not having more Bale, specifically some scenes of god butchering - it sounds like a lot of Gorr was cut. One big action scene of him bodying a god would have gone a long way

The scene in the Shadow Realm or whatever its called when he has them locked up demanding the axe was one of the best MCU scenes to date IMO. Bale crushed that scene. I generally thought Hemsworth was perfect in this, if people have an issue with him being too campy thats on the direction, not his execution. He owns this Thor character well

I like how they made Thor
a Dad to essentially a living god to a dead enemy

Didn't Superman Returns teach us that is a crazy thing to do and creates a major continuity issue?

What am I saying, all the Thor 4 writers were probably high on DHT when this came together lol..

For the non-Harlem parts:
They had a lesbian couple
Korg had a baby with another Rock Dad
Val flirted with Zeus' concubines
Thor being stripped naked for too long and the male concubines gawking
Val admitting she eats carpet...

But it wasn't too bad but definitely noticeable...
Idc about "gay agenda" or any of that. The only one that felt force fed is Korg and Val in the bar or whatever while Thor and Jane made out talking about how gay they were essentially :heh:. That scene added nothing to the plot except I guess to setup Korg having a baby with the Freddie Mercury Korg at the end of the movie :russ: . It was the first time though I was like "Damn, Disney really is making it a point to show the LGBTQ people how pro-gay they are lol.

These dudes are fumbling the Kang the conqueror build up

I think that can be attributed to the release dates of Phase 4 being moved around

I do think the MCU has ALOT riding on Kang being a dynamic villain / character - they need him to be a home run in the worst way
I think the build up of Kang in the movie is going to seem like a fumble.

Dude is probably gonna die lots of times before we see "Prime Kang"

"Troika, which re-branded as YMU in 2020, claims Headey owes the agency at least $500,000 — equivalent to 7% of her fee — for her earnings on the Marvel movie."

- her agency is claiming she owes them 500k, which is the 7% cut of her total earnings from the movie - which comes out to around 7 mil

apparently Peter Dinklage & Jeff Goldblum both had scenes with Bale that also got cut
Well that explains how Bale knew so much shyt.

The movie was fun. It's hard to recommend this to someone who is caught up and super into the MCU. Early on pacing issues is real. Also everything with Jane Foster felt forced. Honestly if they rewrite the script I think the movie would have been better without her. Since it would focus on just Thor. Still, comedy does hit, but perhaps it's too reliant on it.

Ranking Thor movies.

III > I > IV >>>>>>>>>>> II

Man rewatching the previous III as well. Man II is so much worse then the others. Which is saying something since all the Thor movies should be at Captain America level, but fail everytime to get that mark.

Ant-Man films seem to get a lot of flack but I hope they actually nail this one. I like Rudd as Scott and he deserves his own Winter Soldier-level flick.

This jawn was pretty trash tbh. The tone kept switching from serious to goofy. It was like they tried to combine camp and gridmark...

GotG looked washed too...
It’s wild how I felt absolutely nothing when the Guardians showed up. It was like seeing my co-workers walk inside of the breakroom on a Monday morning to get a cup of coffee.
