You are losing, big time. That's a massive L. And it doesn't make much sense to wait for Fincher's version because #1 I seriously doubt a few scenes in the UK version will make it into the remake....you'll know them when you see them....and #2 they color correct each episode of the UK version so it looks almost like a painting. I doubt Fincher will do that:
I can't over state how much you're losing, not watching this show right now. And it's only 12 episodes, so you can finish in a day or two. Watch the very first scene:

That scene when the docs wife rolled in the stroller was filmed so beautifully it was straight out if a classic horror film.

As far as the rest of your post, I felt the same way about "Luther" after certain eps but UK brehs explained that over in the UK there is virtually no crime. And there isn't any guns either. Most cops don't even carry guns.
