Anyone ever went to US Open? Does it make sense to buy ground admission in the second week of the tournament?
Help me out brehs, I don't want to spend $200 to watch mixed doubles.
you're right about the grounds pass in the 2nd week. go today, saturday, sunday. thats when there's something going on at all times, on all courts, and games that matter. you can stay from 11 to 7 watching meaningful tennis, then stay later watching random doubles matches if you want.
once they get into the quarterfinals, the "bang for the buck" isn't there anymore. if you want the full experience and value, go this weekend. also if you ever pay for evening tickets the 1st week, you're a sucker. there hasn't been one good evening session yet. once you get into the 2nd week, the night games get REAL good, but it's still just two/three matches, the prices go down though, but depending on where you sit (in the cheaper seats) you'll have a better/worse view (very important in ashe, horrible stadium)
1st weekend tickets are always sold out months before. mostly because its the weekend. but im sure there are some proper tennis fans out there that know this is when everything is going on. seriously worth it though. if you can go all day, DO IT, if not, evening session for 2nd week is better. marquee matchups, price not so bad, but if you're stuck in row T its not gonna be that enjoyable.
