In fairness, Novak is on 8\9 match, 2 year winning streak vs Nadal. Hasnt dropped a set to him in that period too. He'd have washed him like he did last year.

Tennis, both men & women, is lacking greatness at the highest level, GOATs are fading while the young gunners aren't stepping up.

True, but Rafa's injuries definitely made this possible. Rafa was the only dude putting up resistance when Novak's ascent began. Murray gave some flashes at Wimbledon. Stan the Man had about 4 hot months. Other than that, you never see Novak play anyone and think it's a legitimate toss up. A lot of guys have skill but don't have the mentality that Rafa had. I wonder if it's too late for Nadal to play another way or get a different coach.
