Djokovic might be the worst of the best when it comes to smashes. Never seen a top tennisman miss that much easy smashes like him. Maybe I'm reaching but it's weird that I remember plenty of his missed ones and don't with others.

Rafa winning it dammit :to:
I saw him play against Stakhovsky and he was not bad at all. Still 1 mile behind the baseline but he had some good passing shots, his backhand looked solid though his forehand was average and he was annoying with slicing every serve. Didn't watch the Nishi game but IMO, his main problem remains his mindset. As long as he will stay far from the baseline and wait, there is no way he will beat a top 10 again.

He should go full USO '10 route and try to go inside every time he can, flatten his serve AMAP and overall shorten the points ASAP. May not fit his character but it's obvious now that he can compete with baseliners in the top 10. Even his W at Hamburg was more of a Fognini L to me because numerous times Fabio had the edge but let go of it inexplicably (shytty dropshots, unforced errors et al).

Hopefully he can squeeze out a QF at Cincy and at the US Open. He's not winning either one of them, but to get a QF and then hopefully do something in Beijing and Shanghai, should get him a top 6 ranking at the end of the year. Its doable.

Against Kei, he sat behind the baseline being defensive and retrieving and got blitzed. For the life of me, I do not know why he wont stand closer and take more shots on his return. Frustrating
