Venus through. Sad more people don't openly acknowledge the Venus and Serena story. Many people know who they are but, in my opinion, they don't get the accolades that should come their way. When you consider the sport and lack of black participation, their achievements should be lauded even more. Before Serena and Venus only two black players won a major tournament in singles. Everyone knows Arthur Ashe, who won three major singles titles and is still the only black man to win one of the four majors in singles. Often overlooked and under appreciated is Althea Gibson, who was the first black person to ever win a major. She won five titles in the late fifties. Point is them excelling in this country club, elitist sport may be the most marginalized story in the history of all sports and that's not hyperbole. Talk about black excellence.
:wow:

add to that correct me if i'm wrong but arent they the only 2 on tour that were around in the 90s? if not whoever else there is never won shyt. Venus coming out party being 97 and serena 99 the fact that the latter is damn near in her mid 30s and is still the undisputed number 1 player in the game in 2015 is remarkable. But like in most cases where a sport is largely made up of no diversity their greatness and the feats are taken for granted

Really think Venus or Serena is going to win it. Sucks that they are on the same half of the draw though :stopitslime:

I fukkin hate that clown Muller though. If he didn't get an ace against Novak, then he was absolutely USELESS

Deliciano clutching that 4th set TB, returns two Botnic 1st serves and comes up with that backhand crosscourt after Raonic approached :banderas:

haven't seen venus but thats on TV right now at least

as for today, think makarova and sharapova get it done, and murray wipes kyrgios off the map

bruh....I get this Tsonga 2008 Australian Open vibe from Kyrios bruh....I REALLY do. Murray has just been rock solid all tourney long but he SHOULD have been pushed to 5 but Grigor chocked like a coward up 5-2 in the 4th. I know Rafa got his pigeon in Berdych tonight but i'm just completely and utterly nervous about this.

I was and still am thinking long and hard about this Berdych match.. this is probably the best opportunity he'll ever get to beat Rafa, let alone on a big stage . Cruised with a pretty decent draw as well, but I've seen this so many times from him, blaze through then lose his nerve against a top player :snoop: no one beats Berdych 18 times in a row. Pigeon or not it still makes you think

Kyrgios doesn't seem to have that unbeatable vibe though. He has his first serve but Murray can neutralize that. I just think Murray will go into pusher mode and let Kyrgios beat himself.. really don't think he'll even be in a tiny bit of trouble tonight

Murray to do what Kei did to Daveeeeeeed, comprehensive beatdown

Daveeeeed got some bad luck, first his broken toe nail/bleeding foot and then his shoes aggravated the problem, tried to get some custom shoes for comfort but didn't get them cause it was an Australian holiday :snoop:
