Again you are veering to another argument, no one disputes that serena had the edge over them in head to heads. What I am saying is history speaks for itself, the belgians werent scared of her and during the course of highly contested battles serena (being an emotional player) has/had a tendency to psyche herself out of games. It happened before and could happen again dont know the point of mentioning tournaments outside grandslams, anyone can beat anyone in those..

My point is, she'd still have 16 slams if they were still playing.

but you have nothing to back that up with, if they had the mental prowess to rattle her many times in the past there is a high probability they cud again. To make out like their presence couldnt offset things is kind of silly but its :ld:

Well you can also say that Serena would have more Slams, if it wasn't for Venus. :yeshrug:

Venus was more of a threat to Serena than Kim and Justine.

:what: this isn't about "what cud've been" yeah venus was a thorn in serena side but that was like what a decade or so ago? Serena figured it out and surpassed venus that's ancient history. This debate with the belgians is totally different cuz they were/are still capable of beating serena in this present day venus cannot

I do have things to back it up with. I just told you that the last two times Henin faced Serena she was ran off the court and her head to head vs Clijsters is 6-2. It wasnt as if those two were winning slams left and right before their most recent retirement either tho.

GTFOH :laff:

Serena was on one leg in this match. Justine went to :flabbynsick: after this match.

And Kim been :flabbynsick: since the 2011 Aussie Open.

Have you looked at Kim and Justine results in the Slams the last years before they retired?:comeon:

And lets not act like Serena wasn't injured during the whole Justine run she had. :aicmon:

look at the head to head they have, wins have been fluctuated between the 2 all the time.serena getting the best the last 2 means nothing breh :heh:
and her head to head vs Clijsters is 6-2.
like i said before lil tournies are kind of irrelevant the major skinny is that inmatches that count they are 1-1.Serena won in aussie in her prime when the belgian was wet behind the ears. And clisters won in the infamous us open when lets face it serena was out of shape and lookin like larry holmes

there is a difference between being :flabbynsick: and losing the passion for the sport due to other priorities (ie motherhood)

As for Henin, she is the only one I think if she would of kept her azz in the game and not ran off in 08, would of been the formidable opponent for Serena cause her one hand backhnad moved Serena all around the court. She's, although the numbers don't reflect it cause she left the game early, is the clay GOAT to me :manny:. Henin as comp to Serena? Yes. Clijsters? :smh:

Yup and even with that, women tennis nowadays is all about power & rhythm (Venus, Sharap, Vika being the Big 3 is a clear example), all the other players who lacks one of that may win a GS out of the blue but can't compete in the long term.

Unfortunately, Henin was about the foorwork, the intelligence, the lift and the creativity and even if she was a more powerful player than Hingis (whose career indirectly died because of the Williams era :to:), she would have had troubles keeping that pressure on and the will to win titles. That's why clay was her surface because it decreased the power factor and helped her game.

And if you add that Henin's prime ended around 2007 (started in 2003) and that she was not happy at all playing tennis (like she confessed in a recent interview), I'm not even sure she would have really wanted to compete like that.
