The Real Titletown
I was kinda wondering why you would speculate wildly like this, but it dawned on me that Serena awarded another Wimbledon title means she's tied with Novak at 24. :russ:

Not going to bash her as she's clearly the GOAT female tennis player. I just think it's somewhat weak for her to take a shot at Halep, when I think it's clear to anyone being objective that she was on something much of her career.:manny:. Same are Barry Bonds, I don't take anything away from him.

Nothing to do with Djokovic though. I didn't even think of the Djokovic aspect there.:russ:.

Uncertain grounds
No, and I'm not saying she's ever tested positive for anything, but I believe it's just as obvious as Barry Bonds. Not going to take anything away from her as she's the greatest female to ever step foot on the court, but I think you'd be naïve to think she's never used anything.

It's not even speculating to suggest she used

Seems like the ball bounced much lower in those earlier matches. Everything was waist down and later it's getting up to the chest.

So kind of a random question, but the other Coco thread made me want to poll the regulars here:

Generally speaking what kind of career resume is your threshold for a player to be an "all time great"? IE how many slams, how much weight does #1 ranking hold etc... If it helps name a player that in your view just barely qualifies

There's different levels of "greatness" but I think if you are a multiple slam winner you are well on your way. Anything above 4 slams is pretty historic.

Expected when she is American and Carlos didn't make the final.
It was also the first NFL Sunday of the year.

Of course, I posted earlier that the NFL was definitely a big reason the women's final for the US Open has generally had higher ratings than the men's in recent years. :unimpressed:

Coco was up against a million college football games and college football is the second most viewed entity on television outside of the NFL. It's not like she was up against zero competition.
