I feel like all things considered, I made out pretty well for this card. Obviously, I just started with cards a few months ago, but for a rookie on card auto, PSA/DNA 10 that went for almost $14,000 in October......to be able to get it at $8,500 seems pretty damn good..

I didn't think my offer would come anywhere near getting accepted. I had an offer in on that card, and one or two other lower ones. I heard the Ebay alert on my phone this morning saying I won my Lamar Jackson bid, and I had to do a double take as I got it at about a 40% discount from what it was purchased for in October.

As I said, I'm just going for PSA 10's and MAYBE some 9's now. Or, raw cards, but they will need to be premium cards. I'd rather have 10-20 beautiful high end (if you consider that high end) cards than a bunch of pretty good cards.

If you want high end, always get 10s for ultra modern cards. The exception can be National Treasures and Immaculate. They usually have chipping issues around the edges and corners.

I've seen a few Murray and Jackson cards that I'm interested in, but I don't want to go too heavy on just a few players, especially this early in their career at these prices. I'm very satisfied with the cards I've purchased so far.


I'm also looking at these two:


My offer for the first one at $6,000 go rejected, but I don't want to really go higher than that on that one, and I'd have to think long and hard about an offer for the bottom one. It went for $10,000 back in October. I might offer $7,500 just to get something out there. Not sure what my max would be. Maybe $12,000?

I would outright pass on that Flawless one. Personally, I don't see a lot of upside with it.

Do you have saved eBay searches? I have a zillion and check them pretty much every night. If you strictly want rookie year cards of Murray and Jackson, I'd just set a handful like "2018 lamar jackson psa 10," "2019 kyler murray psa 10," and I would add "2017 lamar jackson psa 10," and "2018 kyler murray psa 10" to see if any of their Select XRCs pop up, which are really nice.

You could also just search all PSA 10s of them, regardless of year to see if nice inserts pop up.

^^^^^ That Tie-Dye is a big one. Field Level for Select is the card to target in that set. Personally, I'd stick with the base, Silver, Tie-Dye and Gold but any numbered ones or the Zebras (which I think are ugly but are fairly popular) would be good. There's some Tri-Colors auctioning as well:

Field Level kinda flipped for some reason in 2018 and 2019. They're always rare but for some reason there's more Silvers than base. People prefer Silvers but I do wonder if that'll flip in the future for these oddball years where there seems to be fewer base.

Definitely. Autos don't mean the card is more valuable. A Gold Prizm is gonna trump almost any autographed card available. That Select Tie-Dye Prizm of Lamar I linked is more valuable than the Diamond Flawless Auto you showed me. Maybe the Flawless will go for more at this very moment but the Tie-Dye will be more coveted down the line.
