Tomorrow, Miami Gardens will get a new spot for fried lobster and grilled shrimp. Finga Licking, located at 17467 NW 27th Ave., will open Friday, July 24, with a party. The celebration will kick off around 3 p.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring Miami Gardens Mayor Oliver Gilbert. Then it's on to the festivities. From 3 to 6 p.m., 99 Jamz will be onsite, and DJ Khaled, along with some special surprise guest stars, will provide the entertainment. There will also be a red carpet.

Elrich Prince, best known for his Poe Boy Music Group, opened the flagship Finga Licking at the former Arnold's Royal Castle on 125th Street in North Miami last Memorial Day weekend. The music mogul decided to go into the restaurant business after tasting chef Latosia Colton's food. He convinced the chef to collaborate on the first Finga Licking. "I want people to know they can get good food away from South Beach."

Now, Prince is opening a second restaurant, in Miami Gardens. Although the menu here will be the same as the one at the original location, this new, smaller Finga Licking will focus on take-out; however, there are a substantial number of seats in the dining room, decorated with red accents. Store manager Sharod Robinson says that the first location remains, after all, the "flagship" of the group.

Finga Licking's North Miami location has become a musicians' hangout of sorts, with celebrities like Mike Tyson and Flo Rida frequenting the restaurant. When the North Miami location opened, Sean Combs widely promoted a video of the place on his I Am Diddy Instagram account.

The restaurant features a mix of Caribbean and soul food favorites such as fried lobster ($22.99), grilled shrimp sautéed with onions and peppers ($15.99), and fried turkey ($13.99). Sides include mac 'n' cheese, sweet candied yams, string beans, and steamed broccoli.

Finga Licking's hours are Monday through Saturday from noon to 2 a.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to midnight.

Anyone else have a love/hate relationship with Miami?

I am pursuing law school. I am highly considering Carolina Law and practicing in New York.

MDC North. I'll be transferring to University of Central Florida (UCF). I actually want to leave Florida though. I can get a job in my major, but I'll more than likely go to Houston for my masters.
I am actually in the MDC-North library right now. I was printing out stuff for admittance into law school. I want to go to law school in NC and practice in New York or another major city except Philly and Boston.

My alma maters :blessed:

I thought about law school for a while.. But the more I studied for the test and the career the less I liked it

And here I am in banking...:manny:
I am the inverse. I tried going for the MBA at Nova but I was bored and not passionate. I like going to court. I just want to get paid to go now. lol

I go there sometimes to study, but I always fall asleep. I actually liked my MDC experience. My cousins and brother went there. They all enjoyed it. A lot of people say they hated it, but if you plan properly you will enjoy your time there. I hate their financial aid process though :demonic:

I never had issues with financial aid. A perk of being a teen parent, broke and kept great grades.

@Silkk if you're doing highly skilled stuff then you may be Gucci but outside of engineering and healthcare that pay will drop. I am no hater and am jealous but Miami is fukked up.

Why do you say that Miami is screwed up? I have my reasons why I believe that, but what made you come to that conclusion?

I got my money and refund check, but that process of waiting to make sure your files are in order is crazy.

Because Miami is not an entry-level city except for highly-skilled jobs. You're competing with people here, nationwide and abroad so there's a surplus of talent and Miami employers reserve the right to be picky on candidates. Unlike Los Angeles where employees are always looking for the better opportunity and employers pay to keep bodies, Miami people are loyal to an employer and have to be fired, retired or snatched up from someone else to leave. So, that stagnates new workers entering the workforce. There's always jobs but opportunities to learn what is needed to get the practical experience is usually elsewhere.

Plus, Miami there is a lot of nepotism and :mjpls: that goes on. Can't hate the players, I hate the game so I want to go to NC or GA for law school. Preferably UNC School of Law or Carolina Law as they call it. :mjpls:
