Ever since I found out there is an armory nearby that has been my go to in my mind. Pops is an Air Force vet so I'd scoop him and the rest of my family members from their houses and head there.

Here's my prediction (completely imaginary btw)

1.) Our government is going to slowly roll back all infrastructural support given to the populace. At first it'll be stuff like welfare and healthcare...then larger cuts will be made to social security, housing support, government regulations that keep industries reasonable, school support, utilities support.
2.) Economy falls b/c Americans aren't prepared to deal without these supports.
3.) Gas prices spike.
4.) Water resources become scarce which affects livestock and food production.
5.) Police force is replaced with mercenaries or paid foreign workers who won't feel anything for the populace. All while escalated violence prompts laws to regulate gun control for citizens. Laws are passed to make it harder to travel both within and outside of the country.
6.) Companies can't cope without help and economic issues results in people not spending money. Industries crumble and jobs are lost.
7.) Hard times increase violence and frustrations and protests until shyt boils over.
8.) Government institutes martial law

I thought about a couple of abandoned schools I've seen. Some have large fields for growing food. Water is the major concern.

I think prepping is necessary if you live in a rural area where there's a lot of distance between you and your neighbors.

I don't think it's such a good idea for urban folks unless you're organizing everybody in your neighborhood. Stock piling water, food and supplies can be dangerous because, if others around you aren't doing the same, they'll come knocking at your door when shyt hits the fan. So it's important to prep with your neighbors if you're gonna do it in an urban environment. But most people rarely interact with their neighbors.

Got land in the country and my grandmothers house belongs to us. So we can go back there if necessary.

I mean we can survive like the Amish for a minute if necessary. Got lamps, candles, old fashion wood oven, cast iron pans.
Horses, chickens and it's by a creek.

My uncle recently retired up there and we all own the land.
...wonder if the wells are still good...?:patrice:

Its would be a lot harder to survive in an urban area. In rural areas you can hunt and forridge food. In urban areas all you have are stores. Too much people too. Everyone would be at each others throats over a cup of water

You only own what you're willing to take and kill for.

You about that action?
