I liked everything about it except for the New 52 Geoff Johns bullshyt.
fukk Geoff Johns.
How can he make such good Green Lantern stories and completely fukk everything else up.

Yeah Geoff tried to reinvent the wheel with the character since the 52 reboot. Power of Shazam run in the 90s is still the definitive depiction since DC bought the character.
For some reason DC refuses to put Power of Shazam in trade

Dope ass movie the humor was legit and what a child would do with super powers. I like the mention of black adam at the beginning and the lil handicap brother was the real star.

The cameo at the end was hilarious and hopefully breh is still signed on

Would be a big mistake if they don't keep Henry definitely when he has stated numerous times he still wants to play Superman and most people like him as Superman.

What was the difference ?

Billy had a more positive outlook despite being homeless and having things not go his way.
Billy and Mary are siblings and their parents were killed.
Freddy was a popular school athlete before he was crippled by Capt Nazi
They all share the same power source (well Billy and Mary is from Shazam and Freddy's from Captian Marvel) so Capt Marvel is less powerful when the others are transformed too
The leave in Fawcett City that also has their own set of heroes that fought during WW2
The Wizard is still around too teach Billy or scold him.
When he transforms he takes the look of his dad and alter his look (like having a beard and wearing regular street clothes). When they transformed they take their desired look which is why Billy and Mary look like their parents and Freddy looks the same but not cripple.

There's a few more nitpicking things but Billy's personality was the biggest complaint. They did the same when the rebooted the character after Crisis on Infinite Earths, but Jerry Ordway brought him back to basics with Power of Shazam!

I’d add Superman/Shazam first thunder as required reading for Shazam fans. I was really hoping for that to turn into a series.

To me though, the muscle suit is distracting and takes me out of the movie because it feels likes a parody

WATCHED IT LAST NIGHT AND ALL I CAN SAY is

Movie was lit from start to finish. And it got real dark at certain times. I’m glad Sandberg didn’t shy from letting us see nikkas get their head tops off..

When Sivanna was choking billy out in the clouds and son was crying “I’m sorry, I’m only a child” i was like dawwwwg

Then that nikka threw his brother out the window lmaoooooo. That was HILARIOUS and at the same time.

Loved how they incorporated his powers as being from the deadly sins rather than him having Shazam’s exact powers as a champion.

The Black adam tease was dope. I’m guessing they’re gonna use the story line where he erases an entire nation cause they killed his lover story . That’s real dark. Rock need to hurry up if not DC should give the film to someone else SMh

Seeing the Shazam family was tear jerking . This nikka Freddy got the power of flight was touching

Darla was a GEM. Mary was fine AF !!!!!. And my lil jet li nikka was killing me all throughout “die die die !!!”

Movie was a ride and the Mr mind cameo and the exploration of the 7 realms makes me excited for the sequel.

8/10

Gonna watch again.
