it just took ward too long to get settled in. he looked rusty at first, but once he warmed up he looked great. his sharpness and reflexes seemed to improve with every round.

Ward is no champion and he certainly didn't do enough to grab the titles off the champ
you need to beat the Champ but in Las Vegas Kovalev probably need to knock him out to win as champion

one thing I will say to anyone saying Ward didnt win, Ward's bodywork was tremendous. Kovalev did good bodywork too, but Ward was superior and if the judges counted that, then its a Ward victory. kinda reminds me a lil of when Shane beat Oscar at 154. Oscar was winning easy early and Shane just worked him with the bodyshots. bodyshots just dont get much credit as they should sometimes.

A lot of people prolly didnt notice this. He was scoring with those body shots whole second half of the fight

Kovalev is a great boxer, he doesn't get enough credit for that.
