Watching Sergai/Pascal...Sergai got somewhat of a chin. Took some good power punches midway in this thing.
Pascal was competive until kovalev landed some body shots in a round that I forget, I believe it was a over hand right to the body.

If this fights goes like it did on FNC, then Ward will get caught flush a few times. Beat his ass from the outside, neutralize his ploddin ass inside then KO him in the 12th. :yeshrug: but... Most likely a UD

Gotta try to post more :dead:
Hell nah!!! Since Pac was no longer a scrawny skinny homeless kid from the streets only El Terriblé,JMM & Floyd beat him convincingly. You can't get starched by Buster Douglass, KTFO by my nikka "Real Deal" & bite his ear off in a DQ. His mythical 80's "prime" consisted of gettin jabbed then K'in an aged Holmes & beatin a gold medal undefeated LHW Champ Spinks. :snoop:

I thought that was odd. Saw their face to face and Ward looked bigger. Honestly didn't expect that.
That's what most of #SOGgang and I've been saying. Ward took the time, much to the chagrin of nonsensical haters, to A) get his money right and B) move up in weight correctly.

I get as fans why we were pissed Ward was on the shelf. But on the coli hating on a black man getting his money right :jbhmm:

But moving up in weight correctly, is going to help him win this fight. People bytched when he fought Paul Smith a bit heavy, but that was a year ago, he added the 4 extra lbs when he fought Barrera, and got the ring rust as clear as possible against Brand. So yea, it took him 16 months, but were getting the BEST version of Dre at 175, his third fight in a year, and another dude to :salute: for getting his guap.

Now if he had rushed and just moved up to 175 from one fight to the next, well y'all know what could happen, especially fighting a power puncher like kkkov. Y'all know the careers ruined by jumping up in weight too soon. Wait to hear Khan a few years from now. That classic disgusting fight I always forget which ruined a dude's career (@patscorpio knows who I'm talking about). Look what happened to Brook's face. shyt, run time said that in his reaction to the Brook/Golovkin fight "put on a 15lbs vest and go to try and box like you normally do".

I'm going to this fight. How does this work though? I guess I have to wait until training camp slows down before I get tickets just in case there's an injury. First week of November I guess. Anybody else going?

What pic?
Ward is taller which I didn't expect and Ward looks more solidly built from an athletic standpoint. If Kovalev is heavier it is because he does look a little soft...he never has never been really defined.

Check the end:

Hard to judge from the video, ward was a big 168 though... Ward head looks clearly bigger but that means nothing... Kovalev has a big chest and is big for his division... I think kovalev is the bigger man but ward is more compact giving the impression that he's bigger

Ward: What Will Kovalev Do When Being the Krusher Doesn’t Work? - Boxing News

by David P. Greisman

Andre Ward is both complimentary of Sergey Kovalev while also being confident that he will prevail over the light heavyweight titleholder when they meet on Nov. 19 in Las Vegas.

Everybody knows what he brings to the table. He’s the champion. He’s defended his championship. He’s beat really good fighters, and he’s beat really good fighters on the road,” Ward told media members in mid-September. “So he’s the real deal. He’s not a guy with a padded record or a guy with a bunch of soft touches. Obviously I see weaknesses and different things that we’re going to exploit or we want to exploit.” Kovalev is undefeated at 30-0-1 with 26 knockouts. Ward feels he can take advantage of what has made Kovalev so successful so far.

“Guys like Kovalev, guys that are big punchers, his nickname is the ‘Krusher’, so when things get rough, what is he going to try to do? He’s going to try to crush,” Ward said. “He’s not going to think about his game plan. He’s not going to listen to what his coaches tell him. He’s going to go back to what he knows, which is fight hard, and then that’s going to make it even worse. He’s going to go back to who he is, because that’s all he knows. Guys with that kind of reputation can’t fathom, really, anything else happening other than knocking a guy out or [their] power being a determining factor. It’s in them. They can’t think of anything else.” Ward did acknowledge Kovalev’s background and skill set. “He comes from the Eastern Bloc system. He comes from a good boxing background. He’s technically sound,” Ward said. “He can box. He can do multiple things in the ring. We’re not ignorant of that. But ultimately that’s [relying on his power is] who he is. I’ll put it like this: If he had to pick whether he was going to depend on power in this fight or his boxing ability, I guarantee you he’s going to pick power. That’s what’s in his mind.” One media member noted that Kovalev had used his boxing while shutting out Bernard Hopkins in 2014. “I’m not Bernard Hopkins,” Ward countered. “And no disrespect to Bernard Hopkins, I’m not 40 years old, or 49, almost 50. That’s just the reality of the situation. If he can stand up with me and go skill for skill, it’s going to make that much more of a great fight. But ultimately, I think we all can agree that’s who he is.”
