Appreciate you breh, that 300 is the figure I saw too. I think I’m gaining an understanding on that part of the process, but one solution I saw to gain more pixels in shooting is to shoot longer focal length, and that wasn’t computing in my head. The number I was seeing was >=135mm. I did see that one solution was to take more pics and stitch them together, which would make sense.When I was making commercial printers the printers would always demand 300ppi.
Check your import and export settings in Lightroom and photoshop. I haven’t been heavy into photography for a minute but if I recall correctly, when you first open up photoshop, you have to select the correct orientation, canvas size, and ppi.
But the way you calculate dpi when printing is just dividing resolution by the length you want to print. I print from Nations Photo Lab, and they’ll give you a warning when your print will turn out blurry at the current size. All my shots are 6000x4000 24MP, but the longer focal lengths do get through that NPL filter, and they do contain more data (larger file size).
