Been really considering using a 48" LG C2 for my next monitor.
I copped a Mac Mini M2 Pro and have been using an LG LED gaming monitor in the meantime.
It works...but for serious color grading it's not the move at all.
Surprisingly, I've seen quite a few people online recommending the C2 as an editing/color grading monitor given the color accuracy and cost.
True color grading monitors jump up to the $5K and up range.
Apple's 5K monitor has fantastic image quality but is overpriced like Apple always does.

I went with the crg9 instead of the other models for a similar reason.

But it has some quirks about it that I don’t actually love not related to it’s actual performance.

Let us know what you decide and how you feel.

Went ahead and copped the 42" LG C2 this afternoon

Bit of background regarding my usage for anyone interested in getting a new monitor:
I've been working full time professionally as a video shooter and editor for 4 years now.
Just recently started working 100% for myself. I have a commercial office space with an iMac 27" and a Mac Mini M2 Pro
I've always loved the image quality of the iMac and have done all my work on it. With the fairly recent purchase of the Mac Mini M2 Pro, I found myself needing to get a new monitor. My first instinct was to get the Apple Studio Display but at $1,600 I quickly had my doubts on cost vs value.
I started doing a ton of research and went down the rabbit hole of color grading with varying recommendations from pros and hobbyists online.
Pros I found online were often times looking down their nose at any monitor that was less than $10k.
I finally came across a few that gave what I felt was a solid unbiased opinion with sensible pros and cons to their recommendations.
Surprisingly I saw the LG C2 come up quite a bit a solid choice for a computer "monitor".
I personally own an LG C1 65" that I game on so I'm familiar with how beautiful the image is; it just never occurred to me to use one as a computer monitor.
I decided to cop based on a few detailed calibration tutorials that look easy enough to follow.
As soon as I hooked up the C2 to my Mac Mini and opened up one of my current projects on Davinci Resolve I was blown away.
I film all my projects these days with 2 RED Komodos and the overall clarity, color depth, and large panel all put a huge grin on my face.
I edited for about 3 hours on it today and the experience was fantastic. So much so that when I turned to my iMac 27" the image actually felt disappointing for the first time.

Right now, the C2 is on sale for $799. I heard the sale will be over in the next few days so I'm going to go ahead and purchase another one in anticipation of me purchasing a Mac Studio M2 Max within the next month or so.

The only negative I've come across so far when using it as a computer monitor is the automatic dimming. I've ordered the LG service remote for $8 and looked up how to disable the dimming. Some people are horrified of shutting off the dimming but if you're using screen savers it's not something I'd be the least bit concerned with. I even set my dock icons to "auto-hide" just in case.

All in all, in my very brief time using it as a monitor, I'm incredibly happy with the purchase and am willing to go ahead and reccomend it to anyone doing any serious video or photo editing.

The image quality for the cost is going to be nearly impossible to beat.

I've been jumping into cinematography from a photography background as well.
So I've been thinking of doing a little content creation with my Samsung Galaxy. I'm blown away by how far we've gotten with our phones and the cameras.
I have some audio equipment - Shure MV7, SM7B, Rode Videomic Go II because I WFH and have to do virtual demos/presentations.

I've been considering spending more on lighting. The Aputure 300D Mark II looks like it's on sale and I'm not sure if it'd be overkill for me to buy it with a softbox but I know it would be perfect for lighting areas at home with no problem.

I'm not going to spend money on a high end camera yet because I'm not sure how far this venture will go. Plus I can pretty much do all I want to do with my Samsung at the moment. Thoughts?

Look into Nanlite for very high quality lights and relatively budget friendly.
What specifically are you looking at creating?
Your own youtube channel? Create content for clients?
It's easy to fall down an expensive rabbit hole buying things that look cool but you don't really need for your particular usage case.
