i got my nikon d60 from craiglist,ended up sellin it like a month later for $50 profit , to get a new laptop but i plan on coppin another one soon

craiglist is key especially when a new model drops, hit up craiglist and photo heads will want to get rid of their equipment, every day i scour

i usually just post iphone photos on there. Congrats on the job, i started out doing freelance for nylon so i learned alot. I see alot of elitist in here worried about specs, it doesnt matter what camera you have all that matter is that you know how to compose a picture and have an eye for photography...i still take pics on a 9 year old 6mp camera most the time. Yup, he WILL have to invest in a quality telephoto lens. Them joints expensive as hell.

Hell yeah and I know most of the dudes in here don't want to spend $900+ for just 1 lens. So he'll either have to go ahead and give up on what he wants to take photos of or look for another subject.

Can somebody give me some tips on filters? It doesn't help to have 400+ and not be sure which ones to use or what to go for.

We should choose a RAW file every week and see who cant edit it the best.

What's the verdict on mirrorless cameras?

Quality on them are very nice...look at Spinoza's pics. He shoots with a mirrorless camera, but I think they are still a bit overpriced.

For "serious" photographers, they even have lenses you can add to the camera but I think it defeats the purpose to have a camera as small as a point and shoot (and that be a selling point) and adding a lense twice its size in order to capture shots u normally wouldnt have got.

Its great as a walkaround tool tho.

breh Im in the same boat....I open up Lightroom or Aperture and I'm overwhelmed at my options.

If we can edit RAW images and compare the filters we added, I think it would be a cool way to learn.

I use this plugin for colored options http://www.niksoftware.com/colorefexpro/usa/index.php

And I use this for my black and whites http://www.niksoftware.com/silverefexpro/usa/entry.php

Of course before i Use the filters I change the white balance and hit the auto button on tone.
If i like what i see on tone i go to clarity and vibrance.
Then I sharper the picture as much as I can without looking too weird.
Add filters and upload

I have a mirror less camera and I love it, you can cop adapters for basically any lens and use if you want.

Only downfall is how expensive the micro four third lenses are
