Just got a Nikon D3100 with a 18-55mm lens. What can I shoot? Settings recommendations? Tips? I think I wanna do nature photography, macro and landscape

Bought a camera. I can’t get a clear picture without auto-focus for shyt.

I have a very basic Canon 4000D. I bought a 50MM lens. What settings do I have to use?

The camera came with the 18-55 MM

The color is better with the 50MM. I don’t have anything in particular I want to shoot. But I’ve been shooting my cats, and food.

Finally got a zoom h4n pro

Don't know what the hell I was waiting on
A must have for video work breh.
I love that thing. I use it with my Rode NTG3 with a c stand for interviews.
I also use it from time to time with my Shure SM7B mics if I want to set up a podcast on the go.

If you’re new to photography, I would just practice on composition first. Put the camera in Auto and shoot away. Worry about the artsy stuff later.

You can shoot whatever you want with that lens, it’s just not the best choice for the kinds of photography you’re talking about, but like I said, just focus more on photo composition at first, then move on to understanding ISO, aperture, shutter speed, upgrading lens, etc.

May sound obvious as shyt, but if you’re getting blurry pics, could it be that you have your shutter speed too slow?

Definitely

I also need a tascam for a lavalier. I was using a lavalier with an app on my phone for a wedding a couple weeks ago

When I was taking the mic off the groom the app crashed and the audio didn't save :snoop:

That was my wakeup call. I will use the zoom to plug into the dj's mixer or speaker and the tascam for the groom

I have about 10 weddings booked for the year so far so I gotta step my game up

Always Try to take a moment before the ceremony at some point to record the bride and groom saying their vows seperately. That way if you have an audio issue or just can’t get clean audio of the actual vows during the ceremony you have a back up

That's a good idea.

This blows my mind, but the majority of the weddings I have done, the couples don't even say their own vows.

But I'm gonna keep that one in the pocket. Thanks
