I need help brehs. I have a a6500 with a 18-105 lens. My filming room is properly lighted with ring lights and side lights. Now my wife and i film videos and i dont understand, but when she is on there by herself , the light balance and image is properly lighted but when i am on screen with her, the image(video) gets dark can you tell me what the issue could be? Does aperture have anything to do with it?
off top it could be white balance. but that can be color graded I believe

It annoys the hell out of us,because then we have to get up while recording, and brighten some of the lights and then play around with them untio its good. Honestly im unfamiliar with white Balance on that camera, i believe its all auto, ive never really had to do much with it.

Try setting the white balance manually instead of auto. That's the only thing I can think of that would cause the color/exposure to shift without you touching the camera

Two remedies, use center weighted metering if yโ€™all are gonna be in the center of the frame. Or set the white balance to tungsten.

Obviously, but honest impressions is better than paid advertisements and reviews.

How much you trying to spend? Peak design has a bag that may fit your needs.

gonna buy my first digital camera. im thinking the Sony a6000. any other cameras around that price range y'all would recommend?

mostly gonna be shooting at festivals/concerts, raves, a lot of low light events maybe some outdoor stuff in the city with friends.

A6000 is a great starting camera.

I tried the peak design everyday bag on at the store.

The 30l seemed inadequate on the straps. The 20l actually fit better but then it's a bit stuffed and not too much larger in size than my PD sling.

But maybe I didn't do a good job packing and should rethink my approach and consider how often I'm in the scenario whete I'm with my son, alone, and bringing enough gear.

:ehh:

Yes, its in auto aperture 4.0, iso 6400, 1/50th
If you really trying to be serious about making videos I would suggest getting to manual bruh. Like GG said, that iso is way too high especially since you said you have rings lights and such. It still hard to identify your main issue here but it seems like it may have something to do with the camera being in auto. If anything I'd say switch it to Shutter priority to keep the shutter speed locked to match your frame rate.

Also do you have any example footage of the issue?

You need to compose your shot manually. You are shooting in a controlled environment with the lighting setup you just mentioned. With the A6XXX cameras you shouldn't have to go higher than 800 ISO in most situations, and I doubt you have to even go that high because if you're shooting at 1/50 shutter, then you'll have plenty of leeway to work with exposure wise.

Put the camera in manual mode, and do some trial and error and get the settings right like that. Turn that ISO way down for sure.
