I can't tell you because I haven't tried camera's of comparable price. I went from a D5300 to an a7iii. The quality is fukking amazing. The low light is just special. I have shot outside, midnight and later, and never turned the flash on once. Pics and video. In fact, when I do use the flash, most people end up liking the ones without it more. The video is clean as fukk. But yes the pictures are quality too. My good friend who shoots professionally, has her eyes on the a7iiiR... So to her, who has many cameras and jobs, it's still top of the line to her too

I own both an A7 Mark II & Mark III. Both are solid cameras. If you can afford to, go with the III. Its a little better in low-light and if you do side jobs/etc....the dual slots are crucial. As for still I think you would be ok with the II. The low-light performance is still good enough. If you plan on doing any video definitely spend the extra $$ and get the III.

I’m using the 50 1.8 right but I eventually wa to get the 35 1.4 and the 85 1.4.

How’s the AF on the 50 1.8 for you? I had one but the AF was terribly inconsistent. I bit the bullet and got the 55 1.8 (that lens is incredible, IQ & sharpness).....

I tested out the 85 1.4 at one of those Eventbrite/Sony events. That lens is incredible as well. I’d like to get that down the road eventually, but the 85 1.8 is solid so Im ok using that.

The 135 1.8 that was just announced...another great lens. Sony has stepped it up filling out their lens lineup.
