Just copped my last major piece of camera equipment, the Tamron 28-75 f2.8. Between this new lens, my new gimbal, the Rode Pic Video Pro, and the camera, I've dropped a little over $4000 on all this movie gear over the past month! The good news is the stuff is quite valuable so I can sell it for my money back if I dont want it anymore.

Overall I'm excited and feeling pumped!

Heading to Big Bear next weekend, so I hope to get some good content. I'm going to focus on creating YouTube content to practice, then will hopefully progress to making some dope documentaries.

Will now focus on learning Adobe Premiere Pro, learning more about filmmaking, and shooting!!

Good luck breh.
With that external mic, look into adaptors to mount it on the gimbal instead of the cameras hot shoe if you plan on using it while on the gimbal.
External mics mounted on the hotshoe of a camera throw the balance of the gimbal off like crazy. So if you plan on hotshoe mounting it, just go handheld or tripod.

You went all in. Just know that you're going to have to put in some work to really get a handle on everything... from the new camera functionality, to all that equipment.

What made you choose Premiere Pro over the standalone options?

Want to pick up another camera

Canon 7d
Or canon 5d mark ii

Have a canon 6d 2

If low light and AF performance isn't that important, I say get a 5D classic and a 40mm pancake. I'm still kicking myself to this day for selling my 5dc. The images that come from that body have a totally different look than any other that I've ever seen. If you're trying to do video as well, I'd probably say go with the mkii 5d.

These are from my 5dc from a few years back. Going through these pics are really making me miss it.

I actually have a 7d w/ a 17-55 sitting in the cuts to pass to my daughter. It's a great camera, but I love shooting full frame.

I'd say:

7d: Good, rugged beater, great as a general purpose back-up body. Good for sports/action
5d Classic: Wonderful camera with a unique sensor that creates really nice portraits
5d ii: Best well rounded body of the three. IIRC, the outside focus points was its weak spot though

:wow:

Mans said fukk all that storage space

:mjlol: if you not shooting high detailed macro shots or large prints for a gallery, over 24 megapixels is overkill. dudes out here shooting fashion magazine covers with 12megapixel cameras. resolution can be kinda overrated

This is the camera I'm going to get this year..I was thinking the Mark IV but this seems like it can do everything I would require.
