Jalexphotos is actually the guy i even learned this terminology from. About a month ago he was doing a ask me anything in his IG story and I think someone asked him tips on editing and he answered by saying to check out videos on "Frequency Separation Retouching" and that it helps alot.

I'll take his word for it I mean he is one of the most popular cameramen for the models, he must be doing something right. After he said that everything made sense cause something about his work stood out. I know you say it looks fake but i believe the contrary...plus if everyone is using photoshop anyway we can argue that all of the work out there looks fake

Do you brehs have any good links to LUTS? I know it's best to edit photo by photo.. but after a trip, I have 1000 plus, get it down to 200-300, and frankly, i'm not editing that many pics one by one. so i guess there's two questions

where can i find good luts/presets for photo and video?

how many photos do y'all typically take on a shoot VS. how many you actually edit and keep?

I used to use VSCO. now I have a couple of my own personal presets that i use on photos. They get applied upon import into lightroom and i tweak from there. You need vsco presets? theres a program that can make a lut from a photo you export from lightroom. and you ca n put that into whatever you color grade your videos with. i cant remember the name off top and i gotta go shoot some shyt right now so i cant search.

as far as how much i shoot, depends on what i'm shooting. i used to shoot way more when i first started, now i'm pretty conservative compared to people i know. if i'm shooting an event, 400-700 shots, maybe. broads, just to make it seem like i'm doing osmething 100-200 shots. i'm bout to stop doing that cuz its pointless for me. i can get what i want in less time

Any of yall ever used one of those Wacom tablets? I'm hoping to get the small one, that's going for about $70 right now, this weekend.

I use a wacom one. Takes some getting used to but it's dope. Much easier to use Photoshop with it. I definitely suggest a small one because you probably end up remapping it and only use a small portion of the pad anyway.

Started using my Wacom small tablet over the weekend. It's definitely a weird feeling to hover over the tablet to move around. And it's going to take some practice just to make my tablet movements match what's on screen.
