I shoot mostly film, have a canon ae1 & recently joined a photography group on facebook and came to realization that most of the photographers are just horny perverts tryna bag chicks calling themselves photographers, I seen one guy make a comment on another guys photo with a chick in a pool with a bikini on about "can i come next time just to look"

LS + google nik 95% of the time. I only go into PS if the persons skin has a lot of tonal variation and use frequency sep to even it out. but i dont like that beauty, super smooth, or see every pore plastic lookin shyt. I'm tryin to get away from portrait shyt unless its my own shyt, so that i dont have to worry about clients face insecurities :russ:
:mjlol: that's real shyt. With portraits it's always a gamble on how much retouching they want. I just started using freqency separation methid, I always try to tune it down though.

I've been meaning to check out google nik.

My kid turned 1 last weekend, so ya mans be tired af juggling all this

I have a lot of content I could share on IG but just haven't got around to it cause every post on there I try and curate it and make sure the stuff fits everything else on my page. I be feeling like a damn DJ with how I operate on there ... be having to make the transition from post to post make sense so it's just not a random vibe and feel to my page.
Trying to balance is a job itself.

But that IG shyt is where I need work in. My shyt is all over the place smh.

Lets talk editing for a bit.....

When retouching portraits do yall use LR or PS?

Frequency separation or regular blur, dodge and burn techniques?

lightroom 99.9% of the time
I also use a program called potrait pro if im just touching up as its so easy

I have photoshop, capture one as well though

I've been swamped with work over the last month breh. My reg 9-5 been busy af and I'm steady working on side stuff for my own business.
I've been working with and helping my homegirl get her company's brand and look together... it's coming along. Her site had a soft launch and I'm still getting some things together, but here's what it looks like so far...

Home

My bro designed the labels and logo, and of course I'm doing the product photos. So we been going over a lot of stuff and preparing for the summer for all of her social media and online shyt is looking legit for her summer season catalog

The job I got asked about this week was for some lifestyle and event coverage for a Charter school network out here in the city. They also wanted professional headshots, so I had to price everything out and get it back to them... all while I'm knee deep in shyt with my 9-5.

Need some more help brehs, :mjgrin:Daps+REP

Usually do candid photography or impromptu shoots, but I'm trying to get more into studio photography

My questions are:

Is Chroma Keying a good idea for studio photography?
I'm thinking of using a green screens as backdrops so I can change it to any color/thing. I've noticed in that examples I've seen on the net the subjects don't look as cleanly cut out and lose some data at times in editing. Can this be solved through better lighting? I've been working on that area as well but don't want to use my time running in circles.

Is Chroma Keying how COLORS achieves their aesthetic?:lupe:

:damn:

Or should I invest in white and black backdrops? They seem to separate the subject from the background more cleanly and I can do what breh did here?:dwillhuh:

Trying to generate consistently clean, quality images I can alter and boost colorwise relatively easily. :patrice:

I think the photoshop method might be your best bet. Especially with you wanting to do photo work and not video.
