What about Pany's vfr, stabilization, and 10 bit 4:2:2 capability? Those features are the main reason why I haven't ordered the A7III yet.

All fantastic. I can't speak for the A7iii since I've never used one.
I did a lot of research on the Gh5 vs the A7ii and A7iii before ultimately buying the GH5.
With the right lighting, the GH5 is very hard to beat, especially at the price point.
The only weakness IMO the GH5 has is the low light performance due to the micro 4/3 sensor vs the full frame on the Sony.
Even that can be debatable since the performance isn't terrible, but when you put it up against a A7iii you can see a big difference, so it isn't necessarily bad, it's just weaker by comparison.
The stabilization on the GH5 is nuts by the way. With the right technique, I can shoot handheld and get very smooth shots.

I appreciate the insight. How is the GH5's AF while recording? Would it be an issue if I recorded myself for vlogs?

For VLOGS I feel like it would be fine.
When shooting videos with a lot of action in the shot I find that the autofocus can hunt often.
I haven't updated the firmware yet, but I've read that updating the firmware helps the autofocus performance quite a bit.
There are also a bunch of youtube videos with tips to make the autofocus the most manageable possible.
I've found that a lot of people will recommend getting away from autofocus and learning to manual focus your videos, and I agree, but for now I still shoot with the autofocus and get great videos.

How do you guys feel about A7III vs GH5?

I'm trying to decide, but they both have great features. My focus will be film. Shorts, music videos, etc.

a7iii imo might be the best value of any mirrorless camera on the market.

Like the A9 and the A7riii had a baby.

Both depending on what I'm trying to achieve.
I'm trying to work on getting the most natural looks possible. I'm not big on overly edited shots.

LS + google nik 95% of the time. I only go into PS if the persons skin has a lot of tonal variation and use frequency sep to even it out. but i dont like that beauty, super smooth, or see every pore plastic lookin shyt. I'm tryin to get away from portrait shyt unless its my own shyt, so that i dont have to worry about clients face insecurities

I tend to do most of the color correction and just composition stuff in LR because I'm way more familiar with the software, and then for specific things like cleaning up loose hairs or blemish removal, I'll take the edited copy and bring it over to PS.

I haven't edited much in LR this year tho, been using C1 on my Macbook, but it would be the same process... do color stuff and composition on C1 and if there's anything else that I need PS for I'll bring it over to that.

I've been swamped with work over the last month breh. My reg 9-5 been busy af and I'm steady working on side stuff for my own business.
I've been working with and helping my homegirl get her company's brand and look together... it's coming along. Her site had a soft launch and I'm still getting some things together, but here's what it looks like so far...

My bro designed the labels and logo, and of course I'm doing the product photos. So we been going over a lot of stuff and preparing for the summer for all of her social media and online shyt is looking legit for her summer season catalog

The job I got asked about this week was for some lifestyle and event coverage for a Charter school network out here in the city. They also wanted professional headshots, so I had to price everything out and get it back to them... all while I'm knee deep in shyt with my 9-5.


My kid turned 1 last weekend, so ya mans be tired af juggling all this

I have a lot of content I could share on IG but just haven't got around to it cause every post on there I try and curate it and make sure the stuff fits everything else on my page. I be feeling like a damn DJ with how I operate on there ... be having to make the transition from post to post make sense so it's just not a random vibe and feel to my page.

i'm like that with my street photography page to an extent. main page i try to curate, but the most i can do is 3 across, and sometimes i'm kinda like "fukk that shyt"
