id get the canon t6 over the the nikon coolpix any day of the week
can cop the nifty fifty even the yongnuo 50mm 1.8 to go with the kit lens and you'll be killing it

Sold:wow:

Good looking on the tips. Honestly I was just going to cop something beginner and dikk around with the software, but looking at the videos testing the camera...yeah...:picard:. I rather cop something that'll have a long time investment.

Don't wanna be that guy, but you won't get this kind of quality for a long time based on the fact you asked. The reason the videos "hop off the screen" as you say is
cause of lighting(most important) and color grading in the editing. The difference between a professional video and an amateur one is 90% of the time due to lighting
and angles. It takes experience or emulating what they do, cause a lot of low-end cameras can do what these videos show you. Its 100% technique. Just get the
best camera you can afford that has a video-centric lineage (Panasonic m4/3 cameras and Canon rigs come to mind) and make videos with the editing software
you feel most comfortable with.

The Key Wayne video has a lack of light in the background so that you focus primarily on the foreground, which includes him and his equipment. The second video,
not including the shots in places outside of his studio, has at least two light sources, with one pointing down onto him and the desk, and one pointing directly at him
with vignetting at the end to give a cleaner focus on him. Bottom line, long as it isn't a point and shoot from 2005, you can even get decent video from Cell phones.
Its all about technique.
In the videos I posted can you tell me the FPS used ? Is it 60 ?

For the most cinematic look, shoot in 24fps. Cameras also have the best quality when you shoot at the lowest fps.

When shooting video, always keep this rule in mind.

  • Your shutter speed should be double what your fps is (so if your shooting in 24fps, set the shutter speed to at least 1/48 or 1/50)
Same goes for 60fps, you'd want to be at 1/120 or higher.

For the videos you shared, they shot various scenes at different fps. That's how you have smooth slow motion in the Key Wane video, the stuff they wanted in slow motion was shot at 60fps, but the regular footage was shot in 24fps. They rendered the video in 24fps, I know this because there's no 60fps option to view the video in. It looks like it was shot at 35mm (if you have a crop APS-C sensor that would be 24mm) as well, which is the standard focal length for shooting films.

last stupid question for the brehs

When i use the 35mm does it automatically give me those cinematic black bars on the top and bottom? I like that... I like that alot

and also, why do i need a dedicated 35mm lens when the lens that comes with the kit can do 12-60mm

Thanks
