You've never used a DSLR?

I just compose better with one and it feels more realistic. I perfer to look through the viewfinder rather than holding it 2 feet from my face. Plus, I guess im just a purist.

I just dig the commerical, apparently the commercial was not actually showing what the phone could do. Those videos of the Image stabilization were not from the phone.

Is the D60 out of production or something? Amazon is referring to the D3100 as it's upgrade, and the D60 costs like 800 something new on Amazon anyway.

The D5100 seems pretty popular, is it worth getting over the D3100?

Yeah I really dont know how much the entry level nikons go for. If you can get a d5000 with a 35mm lens then go for it. I only mentioned the d60 cause thats what I started out with in the summer or 09.

well, the d60 is a solid camera, used to be like 1500, its just older.

pricing on the 5100 on amazon/ebay is good, copping that is prolly your best bet, if u dont give a shyt about 2 megapixrels and the flipout screen, then 3100 is solid. i has the 3100, takes good pics, easy to use. 5100 has built in remote sensor, 3100 does not, but they sel the battery grips that have remote sensors so.....
