What's the best point and shoot camera for about $300 that can do fisheye lens, etc and can do the whole focus thing where the main object is there and the background is kind of blurry (don't know what its called)

looking to take nice pics while I'm vacationing as opposed to using my iPhone but can't go full throttle on an expensive cam just yet

At $300 budget you are asking for quite a bit. I'm unaware of any point and shoots being able to do fisheye without getting a special lens that is for shooting fisheye. A fisheye lens alone will run you $200-$1,000 You could probably get something like the camera I linked below. It should be able to give you the ability to do bokeh (the whole focus thing where the main object is there and the background is kind of blurry.) This camera has aperture setting which you would use to try and get bokeh in your photos. Though it doesn't have very good megapixels. I really don't know much about his camera to be honest.

Between those two I'd say the Fuji. If money isn't an issue get the new Sony Alpha a7RII.
Yeah I think I'm going to go with the Fuji although I got my eye on the Sony a7 or a7r now as well. Appreciate the advice fam. :salute:

Never too late to jump back in

I had a Canon T3 that a friend actually gave me but it only shot video in 720p and I wanted something pocketable. I sold it and got a Canon S110 and while I'm happy overall with the image quality, I'm ready to go all out and get something that can take fantastic photos and video in one package regardless of size.

Sony RX100.

You should be able to find refurbished ones on Amazon/eBay for around $300.

They have refurbed RX100 II on Amazon for $349.

Easy choice.
