Quick question brehs...I have a 50mm fixed lens and a 18-105mm zoom lens. I just copped a 18-55mm zoom...did I waste my money since I already have the 18-105mm?

Yes he wasted money, 18-55 are kit lens and usually come with cameras, the IQ on them are 9/10 bottom of the barrel unless it's the new canon stm version, but even then your other lens covers the same focal length and I can't imagine the 18-55 opens up wider than the 18-105. I would assume they are the same.

In closing, you will only mount the 18-55 on the cam when you first get it and then 99% likely never again unless you just want a lighter setup, but even then it wont be much lighter than the 50mm if at all.
