@Imgone8itch You the Raider homie, but I disagree with your post.
I gotta start by saying I dont believe in dynasties in football. Too many things can go wrong from year to year. I believe in the win now approach. With that said, I honestly dont think we were that far off from a bowl appearance. I think people see the product we have on the field today and forget how different things could've been if we didn't make dumb offseason moves. If we keep Crab (Carr's favorite target), and possibly add Jordy instead of wasting money on players like Doug Martin, resign Bowman instead of wasting money on 90 year old Derrick Johnson, pay Mack and see what he can do with the d-line talent we acquired in the draft, and we're looking at a much better team. Again, im not saying a super bowl was guaranteed or even likely, but it very well could've been the best shot we'll have in years.
Again, I think too many people get caught up in the long-term approach. We've been trash for over a decade and it looks like we're headed for another decade of trash. Gotta take a shot when you have the chance.
This is what frustrates me the most about the Mack trade. We finally got him some help. He wouldn't have to do it alone. We have some talented young D-linemen now and with Mack commanding a double/triple team on every play, these young guys would eat.
This sounds great, but do we trust Reggie, Gruden, or Mark to turn this franchise around just cuz they have some money and few extra picks? I'm not confident in either one of these guys.
Imo, Gruden set us back. You don't rebuild by moving your HOF talent in their prime. You get rid of overpaid/underperforming guys (Carr, Coop) and build around your legit talent. If we kept Mack and moved Carr and Coop we'd be in a much better position for a rebuild.
Honestly ask yourself was we really one or two pieces away from being a dynasty? Or winning the bowl? If u can say yes then I guess. Honestly being real we was not.

I was just as pissed as anyone with trading Mack, but the money Mack was asking for along with the money Reggie paid Carr, the money he paid Gabe Jackson, K.O and Rodney Hudson, we would have been screwed long term. Coop agent was trying to get coop paid top W.R money coop has not earned that. We fell in love with coops potential but he had way to many drops to get paid top dollar.

Now back to Mack we pay him what he got paid from the bears we have no cap space left and as much as I love Mack he wasn't going to win us many more games alone! We loved Mack cuz he was ours but let's be real it was some games when Mack looked like L.T and it was some games where we like where the hell is khalil!

When you look at it logically u save 100 mill and gain 2 first rd picks trading coop saves another 100 mill and gets you a 1st rd pick.
