If you wanna protect Carr, run the damn ball 60-70% of the time. I think that’s the play this season, with the expectation that your two athletic tackles can develop and pay dividends going forward in the passing game in years to come. Carr needs to develop better pocket awareness and use his legs more, otherwise he’s gonna take hits in the pocket regardless.

Arden Key is either a low budget young Aldon Smith, or Randy Gregory 2.0. Time will tell...

Draft Grade so far is a C.

Dude is so p*ssy when that pocket starts to collapse around him. Step up in that bytch and let it fly or run that shyt

Gruden is channeling the spirit of former Raiders owner Al Davis.

“Yeah, my mom called and she said that, ‘Maybe Mr. Davis was calling the picks down from heaven,’” Gruden said Friday. “It’s a philosophy that I have, it’s a philosophy that I learned here. Bigger guys can be a good
thing, faster can be better.”

But something else has been made clear in Gruden’s decisions through the first two days of the draft: The new/old Raiders coach is betting on himself

Norfeast groovin…
Lowkey tho, getting Bryant made the Nelson signing and cutting Crabtree all the more dumb. I would want a guy to move the chains, isn’t Jordy suppose to be a down field threat?

Draft is a B-B+ if you consider landing Tay Bryant with a 3rd.

Rio, Haddy, Obi, Gareon & Zo, y’all nikkaz gotta elevate the D. Playtime over, y’all got y’all paper, family straight, nikka it’s time to eat.

If one y’all nikkas don’t at least have a Pro Bowl type season, then it’s on you.

:to: Gruden already bringing more excitement and those feelings back in his first 3 months than McCac had his whole tenure as GM. :wow: fukk the character concerns, no more low floor choir boys, the McCac draft special. :banderas: Mack finally getting more help in this draft than his whole career to date so far.

Round 5, No. 140 overall: Maurice Hurst, DT, Michigan

My take: An absolute steal for Oakland, which traded up from No. 159 overall to No. 140 to select arguably the premier pass-rushing defensive tackle in the draft. Thing is, there are concerns about his heart after an EKG taken at the combine showed irregularities. He has since been cleared for football activities and still dropped from a first-round talent to the third pick of the fifth round. He, like second-rounder P.J. Hall, addresses a massive need for an interior pass rusher, as evidenced by his 12.5 career sacks, including 5.0 last season. Pro Football Focus had Hurst ranked as the third-best player in the draft.

How he fits: So long as he is healthy, he could be the starting defensive tackle opposite Khalil Mack in the Raiders’ 4-3 base defense. That is how good and impactful he projects to be. With Hurst, Mack, Bruce Irvin, second-round pick Hall and third-round pick Arden Key, the Raiders figure to get after opposing quarterbacks with aplomb this season
