This was never going to be getting current gen 3rd party games. That was delusional. It will get many ports of the PS4 & Xbox One gen games got. Though this should be a noticeable upgrade to the Switch. People need to remove the expectations of what PS5 and XSX is and separate it from the Switch. The Switch is a hybrid console, which you mentioned before it needs to be affordable, and battery life must be in a good place.I saw nikkas arguing last week that FFXVI and GTA6 were gonna be day one ports this year
With that being said, I have noticed people are taking the dock to be closer to the PS4 to be a little too literal. The Switch 1 was closer to the PS4 than it was to the PS3. As evident that ports like Doom and Witcher 3 were possible with insane optimization. I expect the dock to get a boost with the Switch 2 compared to Switch 1. It pro won't be literally PS4 Pro but somewhere between PS4 and PS4 Pro.
The fascinating thing is what JRPG devs do outside of Square.

you still gotta wonder about what Square is planning to do with games like DQ12 that need Nintendo, make it a cross gen release?
The games are the only thing that's ever mattered here. Nintendo knows they aint talking bout nun on the hardware side of the game. Thats why they keep delaying it. Once we see the launch games the tide will shift. Will I be buying it day one? Of course not. But Nintendo is not bringing it to market with no confidence.

Oh yeah, that will be held back by Nintendo's hardware. Since how massive Dragon Quest is in Japan and how Japan favors handhelds and mobile.
Tbh Nintendo has mentioned games on Switch 1 being playable on Switch 2. But not the reverse, so maybe we see DX XII only on the Switch 2 along with the usual current gen consoles. Prob the best-case scenario in this situation that is realistic.
Either the next 3D Super Mario Game or Mario Kart 9 has to be a launch title. I honestly don't MP4 will be a launch since they haven't ported MP2 and MP3 on the Switch yet. Along with that, we have.
- Pokémon has been quite af for a while. Game Freak prob has something out in November at the latest.
- I don't feel MP4 will a launch title and is prob a holiday title if I were to guess. Plus the ports of MP2 + MP 3 haven't happened yet.
- There have been rumors of a remake of FE 4 and I feel that is most likely in the cards.
- There was a rumor of Star Fox Adventures of some kind. It is nice to get a new entry ever since the last disaster on the Wii U.
- A launch title could be a port of Super Smash Bros Ultimate for the Switch 2. Give a new fighter pass and this is for the Switch 2 what Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was for the Switch. People would buy a new console just to play Smash Bros.
I love when nikkaz fall for the ok doke and think Nintendo is going to go in on hardware and always be disappointed when the toaster specs come out. They tried it with the gamecube got cooked and pretty much rebranded the same hardware as the Wii u and it sold like hot cakes. From that moment they knew hardware was never important unless you can have some type of gimmick. I’m curious to see how the switch 2 does I don’t see outselling the OG switch and I expect a lot of cross gen games on it.

they will be in the same position as sony and to a far lesser extent, microsoft. The Switch 2 will sell less but the games, the online service, the hardware and accessories will all be more expensive.
there are too many casual switch owners that just don’t care about graphics or even needing to play the new mario game day one
But you would think with all these pc handhelds coming out you would think they would step the hardware up a little. Like I don’t think this is on par with a steam deck and the deck has been out for a minute. Also I’m sure this is going to be easy to emulate on PC eventually.
