Show isn't that good. Not even on some comparing it to daredevil type shyt either just on some stand alone type show shyt. The cinematography is great but the story is trash.
First off jessica jones is not interesting in any way shape or form. Watching this felt like a chore. Before the story picks up we're really just watching some dirty looking alcoholic frail looking white girl deal with her neighbors. They danced around how she got her powers, her superhero background, and why she stopped being a superhero after she got rescued. Those are honestly the only interesting things about Jessica Jones.
They did a terrible job of displaying powers outside of kilgraves. We see her jump really high like twice and pick a guy up with one arm but that's about it. Her fights looked like fights any half decent person trained to fight could've had. They never give any real indications of just how much power does she have. Same with Luke Cage as far as strength goes the don't really give you a good idea of just how strong is he. One second you getting thrown through a wall, the next second they're having struggle fights with non powered people. If you can lift a car then any fight you get in with a normal person shouldn't last 5 seconds.
They kind of used purple man wrong. Dude had a great buildup and they threw it away on him not wanting anything out of life but this trashy looking chick who is a self admitted piece of shyt. They could've built him up like the yellow king from true detective never showing his face until the later episodes and had us on some
shyt or at least gave him some kind of real motive to be a bad guy.
The story was so overly complicated for no reason. no one thought to wear headphones until the last episode? Really?
They had multiple times to kill this dude and then would have some reason not to.If your villain can be stopped by some beats by dre then your story is shaky to say the least
The girl who played Jessica Jones,
Havoc from Mobb Deep,Maxwell on drugs neighbor were all boring people. The lesbian love affair felt like filler most of the time. Outside of the kilgrave incident, whether they got divorced or not would have had not type of impact on the main story so was there really ever a reason for us to care? They could've condensed that into wife finds out she's cheating, wants a divorce and other wife tries to use killgrave to tell her she doesn't want a divorce. Bam, an hour plus of screen time freed up to be put to better use.The reality of it is, Netflix is taking advantage of binge watching and the fact that it's based on characters that already have backstories and buildups due to comic books because if this show was on TV as a brand new week to week program, everyone would have either forgotten to watch it after week 2 or plain given up on it due to the slow buildup and uninteresting characters.
