Yeah, I'm not too optimistic about a 2nd season. The show is doing worse I believe than Dracula which was canceled last season. It's doesn't have the critical favor like a Hannibal does either.

I thought this past episode was the best the show has done yet. The hunger demon led to some funny moments with the people it possessed. Plus the demon of the week had emotional weight with the way it tied to John's friend and the sacrifice he had to make.

That closing scene with John holding his hand while he was strapped to the bed screaming in agony was .

I like Matt Ryan a lot as Constantine and Zed as well. I am really falling in love with that chick . Even if it doesn't come back for another season, I'll enjoy it while it is on.

Dracula debuted with a 1.8 in 18-49 and then immediately dropped to below a 1.0 for the rest of its run. So if Constantine can maintain a 1.0 or above for the majority of its run then it could get a second season.
And I agree this was the best episode of the season.

The Papa Midnite & Constantine scenes were legit.

I hope it the future they use him sparingly though.

If they pursue the Dangerous Habits arc, I hope they show John smoke more.

I thought this was a solid episode, not as strong as last week but the team working together against the spirits was cool. We learned that Zed ran away from home for some reason and got to see Chaz's healing in action.

They didnt show him smoke he just had it in his mouth.

They arent permitted to show smoking on network tv.

Constantine wasnt as big of a dikk in this version.

I figured they would tone down his a$$hole behaviour from the comics and they have.

I thought it was only supposed to be a 13 episode season anyway because Hannibal takes over the Friday @ 10 slot in the new year.

And this past ep was another good one.
Papa Midnite is a really good frenemy for Constantine.
We are getting more info about Zed.
And the little look into Corrigan's future was cool if you are a comic fan and familiar with where the character eventually ends up.
