They didn’t need to jump the gun. That’s the luxury Demps has in all of this. He has all the leverage. He has a top 5 player under contract all the way up to the 2019-2020 trade deadline. Which means he also has the draft and free agency in between now and then to make a move. Boston has better players to package together. What about next season when other plays start becoming available? I think it’s very smart of them not jumping the gun and having some foresight with handling their prized jewel.

David Griffin made a good point on the TNT pre-game. Acquiring 5 new bodies and opening up those roster spots in the middle of the season isn't easy, especially with the deadline right on your neck. Combine that with Lonzo's camp leaking the hold out until they're moved stuff and it's just real messy to pull off at the 12th hour.

He also mentioned what most of us already have about how the Pelicans not exploring those other options that become available in the summer (Boston, potential Zion deal, mystery teams) would be a disservice.

The only leverage NO has is to fukk themselves over. It makes no sense to pass up on that shyt. This non move put the nail in NO basketball. If I’m a fan why would I even care now. U got your best player not wanting to be there. Why go or watch games? shyt was already bad there. I only see it getting worst

And another thing no team will trade the 1 pick for AD. Zion is box office. AD barely in the top 20 jersey sales.

But hey maybe I’m wrong

:russell:That same deal will be available in the summer. The Pelicans made the right move, wait to the summer, see who gets the first pick and then make the best deal.

Maybe the Lakers young players just aren’t that good. LA hype has elevated many mediocre players to relevance. It wasn’t too long ago that Jordan Clarkston or Larry Nance were considered young legit assets. Starting to see all that offseason Josh Hart hype die because he can’t even beat out KCP.

An Ingram, Ball, Kuzma core isn’t that amazing.

I’d hold off for possibility of Tatum or Zion

He has all the leverage
How? This deal isnt going to be available to the summer. Its gonna be desperation seeping in because no one is going to trade for him after next season starts. Ainge is going to lie to them and take Tatum off the table, like he typically does and NYK is presumably going to lowball them somehow as well. LAL is definitely gonna be spited after rejecting this trade and essentially playing them for a fool this whole time.

NO isnt going to get half of this trade Id imagine. Obviously Zubac wont be there, but they'll probably also take either Ball or Ingram off the table and that drops the value incredibly right there. And they can do that because the Cs arent gonna give you any type of mega deal that doesnt include Tatum.

I really enjoy listening to Griff when I get the opportunity. It's so interesting to hear his thoughts since he sees things from such a different viewpoint than us regular fans. His insight is honest, open and refreshing and he looks at things like a GM so that's the viewpoint he speaks from.

Once again the Suns don't do shyt to fix their imbalanced roster. :francis:

Tyler Johnson is a combo guard not a point guard. :francis:

No trade for a serviceable power forward to help Ayton and Holmes on rebounding and defense.:francis:

I guess the front office Sarver is banking on getting Zion or Ja Morant in the draft lottery. :francis:
You don't like Tyler for them? He's definitely better than D'Anthony Milton he can shoot and he allows Booker to still control the ball
