UFC fighter Chael Sonnen had several inches of his colon removed during emergency surgery on Nov. 15 - one day before his first-round loss to Rashad Evans at UFC 167.

Sonnen confirmed that he had the procedure during a taping of TSN's Off The Record on Wednesday, after host Michael Landsberg revealed that a source told him about it.

"It's a little bit of a surprise that you had that information," replied Sonnen when asked whether he had undergone surgery.

Despite the medical emergency, Sonnen did not withdraw from the scheduled matchup in Las Vegas on Nov. 16 and was defeated in a first-round TKO.

"When I sign a contract to fight, I'm agreeing to fight a guy on a certain day at a certain time and in a certain venue," he continued. "It's my job to feel good when I go out and do it and if I don't that may play a hand in the fight."

I know guys can BS their way through the pre-fight medicals but I have a hard time believing this, no doctor would allow this and if true athletic commissioners and their doctor would be out of jobs

I checked with the UFC. They verified with Chael and his team that he did not have any surgery prior to the Rashad Evans fight. According to Chael, the interviewer asked him a question and Chael, coyly, didn't answer him directly as the article clearly states, and the interviewer inferred that the answer to his question was in the affirmative.

ive said it before here, and i'll say it again. GSP be banging all kinds of bishes left right and centre. i met dude 8-10 yrs ago by pure accident clubbin in montreal on new years eve. vip security guard let me n my boy girls were sayin oh u guys fighters i jus nodded my head n played along with it. next thing i know there's about 15-20 escorts n models around me n my boys and i see david louiseau and gsp gettin lap dances n shyt. i spent da nite in vip partyin with david louiseau hit up an after party and have remained good friends with him since. i've done some business with him and his boys and in part sometimes with gsp. in Montreal every GSp knows every female bartender by 1st name basis, dude walks into every strip club and says hi to the dancers like they old friends. dis dude has a perfect balance between training and partying. wha ever the problem he havin now, must b gettin in his way in montreal hence y he jammin in MIA now.

I went to Montreal for a bachelor party. We were around the area where the strip clubs were and were mulling if we should go into Club A or Club B. Then we see GSP and Dennis Kang come out of Club A. We immediately were like Club A is the spot! Hahah.

The chicks were not good in that joint though. I wonder if GSP just milked the A-Team and we came in and only saw the B-Team.

World Series of Fighting has announced the date for their eighth show. The promotion has revealed that WSOF 8 will take place on January 18th in Hollywood, Florida and will be headlined by Lewis Gonzalez vs. Justin Gaethje for the inaugural lightweight title, as well as Jessica Aguilar vs. Alida Gray to crown the first WSOF women's strawweight champion.

Also set for the card are Anthony Johnson vs. Mike Kyle in a light-heavyweight bout and Cody Bollinger vs. Tyson in a bantamweight fight. Officials said that another main card fight and prelim bouts will be announced soon.
