Francis wants to box. UFC can't budge on that even though they did for Conor.

Ngannou legit came from the bottom, you cant put a limit on him. Also I think people think hes stupid but he's very strategic.

why doesn't that weird ass text Francis got before he beat Gane get more publicity.

fukk the UFC

What was the text?

Agreed.

Dana is trying to control the narrative. Francis screwed up their plans when he beat Gane.

It’s evident how mindless mma fighters and fans are by the way they treat Francis. Francis was the only active champ to lobby for better fighter pay and the opportunity to do stuff outside the ufc.

Easy

It's not 2004-2015. UFC is not the only MMA opportunity and despite there being lesser popular ones (PFL, One, Bellator) the days of just "take the contract and deal with it" fukk all that.

Nikkas supposed to be happy at putting your life at risk and making 400k from a multi billion dollar company cause Dana says so :mjlol:. Meanwhile Fury and Usyk gonna get paid a combined 45-50 milly. If Joshua and Wilder fight combined 35-40.

Boxing for all its many flaws you get paid if you're in the top 20.

I hope both! PFL made deals with Jake Paul and Claressa Shields that allow them to box. Bellator would allow it too but :patrice: PFL also has a broadcast deal with ESPN, curious to see where Ngannou lands and :salute: to him for betting on himself.

Yep he can box with either Top Rank with PFL due to ESPN or Bellator with Showtime.

I can't front he made the right call.

In 2022 Dana idea of a monster payday would have been 2 million after PPV's for the heavyweight champ :mjlol: after expenses and taxes Francis would have gotten 900k plus been locked up for life.

He saved himself.

Even Andy Ruiz get 7 figures for fighting Ortiz FFS.

Why didn’t Francis Ngannou re-sign with UFC?

Peanuts:hhh:

The highest paid heavyweight in the history of the UFC was Brock Lesnar, who earned a disclosed purse of $2.5 million plus an unknown amount of pay-per-view money for his UFC 200 fight against Mark Hunt. It’s estimated that in the end he made $5 - $7 million for that event, which pulled in $71 million off 1.2 million PPV buys.

Compare that to Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury, who made a guaranteed $5 million each plus a percentage of PPV profits in their second fight. That event sold roughly $64 million in PPVs off 800,000 buys. Wilder and Fury walked away with $25 million each from that fight.

Contract was gonna be a straight robbery. Endeavor is worth $10 billion and Dana is worth $500 million. Absolutely criminal. Boxing is a dirty game but this would NEVER fly with any promoter.

This is what he thinks of his guys
‘All those f-cking guys are overpaid’ - Dana White rags on boxing, says UFC has to ‘run a business’

“One of the big problems with boxing, too,” White explained, “is that all those fukking guys are overpaid. And every time they put on a fight, it’s a ‘Going Out of Business’ sale. You know what I mean? ‘We’re just trying to get as much fukking money as we can from you guys, and then we’re out of here and we’ll see you in three years.’

“You can’t build a league like that, you can’t build a sport. You can’t have 750 fighters under contract, making money, feeding their families every year, with that kind of mentality. It doesn’t work. You have to run a business.”

Somehow, someway, Bob, Oscar, Hearn, Warren, Haymon (I know he's not a promoter), DiBella, have managed to have large fighters under their rosters and never say "welp, you know Tyson Fury/etc your purse will be $400k and no ppv points on this million dollar selling PPV despite being broadcast on ESPN and Fox and internationally. If you don't like the terms you're cut or I'll sit you like Jon Jones for 3 fukkin years"

And I don't even like half the promoters in boxing like that. Francis needs to open his own promotional company as well with whoever he signs with to get paid 2x. Fukkin low-life ass Arum is worth $300 million and despite his shady tactics never paid his fighters THIS BAD. Obviously the money is there Dana just don't give a fukk and Francis knows it. Prolly showed PBC and Top Rank his contract and they laughed their asses off.

It's the biggest robbery in modern sports right now. Fukkin Tank makes more than Francis FFS. Fights being held in Dubai, China, France, Brazil, England and your MAIN EVENT CHAMPION fighters pay after PPV is at best 2-3 million. More likely 900k-1.5. Fukkin Tommy Hearns and them were making $8-$10 milly 40 years ago!!

Francis obviously went and did his homework with various promoters and fighters and read he's getting No Vaseline.

This really puts a big asterisk next to the heavyweight belt.

I'm interested in Jones finally fighting at heavyweight, but Francis on one damn knee beat Gane. He avenged his loss against Stipe.

Paper champ status for whoever wins now.
